The writers can't have Klaus and Hayley as a couple because that will anger the Karoline fans (which I am) but they needed a love relationship on TO so they forced Elijah and Hayley on us just to have another brotherly love triangle just like TVD 🤦🏻🤦🏻

He died with Klaus because of “Always & Forever,” but I totally agree with Daniel. Elijah was the wisest, more sensible one of the siblings, and Hope trusted him with her life & was an encouragement to her. If he had chosen to stay alive…there’s a strong possibility that Hope would come to her senses & realize that she’s not alone. Though I’ll also say that being a Tribrid & having her humanity off came with its plus side. Because even though she won’t admit it, deep down (despite her being a jerk to all her friends) she’s doing what she’s doing to protect everyone…her own way…just like HER DAD did.
