In the dramatic conclusion to the Viva Peñoles series Daniel Woods climbs the 'omega king line' of the boulder of his dreams/nightmares in the beautiful but foreboding Mexican desert. After Jimmy Webb spots the overhung, highball problem, it claims a casualty when Dave Graham pops his tendon on it. Bowed, but not broken Daniel spends every night going loco on the line (too hot to climb it during the day) and christens it El Diablo. I blew my ring finger tendon. It popped. Everyone heard it. My good friend Josh Haynes asked me if I felt it up to my elbow or did I feel it up to my shoulder. And I understood what he meant, I felt it up to the elbow all the way but also in a couple spots between the elbow and shoulder. He said “you blew it” ! And I did. The slightest touch hurt like all hell. 6 months later it felt exactly like it did the day I injured it. It was 8 months before I noticed decent improvement and 12 months before I got it back to 95% It ended my climbing (I climbed hard for 3.5 years) I lost so much strength and just didn’t have the fire anymore. My heart goes out to any climber who has to deal with those tendon injuries they’re horrible

Ouch, hearing that he ruptured his A2 pulley kind of wrecked me for a minute. That would put someone out of climbing for awhile and it's hard if you're that passionate to have to be out for so long.

In the previous episode Daniel kinda lectured Dave in that he "used" to scream alot before, but now he was more zen and also said; "whatever happened, happened." But, he screams proper on this V15 though.

You know considering I've had five years were every time I recovered from a pulley injury I reinjured a different one and it was 5 years in a row. I have to laugh. Welcome to the world of mortals.

I don't know how many different diets of fish oil pills omegas literally everything I can possibly think of. Coming back from one of those injuries is a slap in your ego doesn't matter if you're strong enough to climb strong you need to just dial it back and nurse that s*** for way longer than you want to
