This album made me learn guitar when I was a freshman. My first major guitar purchase after starting on a cheap samick electric was a sunburst MIJ strat. My soccer coach sold me his 1996 50th anniversary 1962 reissue. Coincidentally John's main guitar is a 1962 strat.

I was at that ‘98 Tibetan Freedom Concert at RFK! Beastie Boys played then Pearl Jam was supposed to be the last act…they left for the encore and I heard the bass all of a sudden come alive and then there they were, started playing Give it Away and the place went berserk!!! I can see it now, something so vivid I can smell it! What a moment.

They’re talking about a record that came out over 20 years ago. He’s over 60 years old, and they play music from all over their discography in the live shows over time.
