Try making $25k last two years in LA. That's the reality he's talking about here. When you're an actor who needs to be available for auditions at the drop of a hat, you can't have some regular 9-5, you need to rely on gig work. So when 25K come in, you're beyond grateful because that pays for your entire year. With that money, you can *hopefully* parlay it into more opportunities for yourself (being able to say yes to meetings, collaborating with other artists, simply making yourself available). Nothing about what he's talking about is him being rich (before the 600k) - that 25k is his entire year's pay, maybe even two years.

He is a real guy, people dt realize the weight that comes with being a celebrity and then try to go back to "civilian" life. When they take a normal job people will always feel sorry for them for not being active in their inudstry, Josh was always after Goonies in minor roles, B actor... I remember him getting killed in "The Mimmic" or some horror movie like that. He was for a long time a "failed actor". The fact that after now that he's made it, and made millions, can stilll have the perspective that 600K is a staggering amount of money (or was cuz today with what influencers and hustlers make its nothing) and that if he lived modest he would not need to work again, is utterly refreshing to me. Level head that man has.

@@house9850 I don't hear a lot of complaining from him. Just resentment from you. Do you know why you punch a clock? Because the job is there, unless you screw up or get laid off, no matter what. You get paid less because you get paid every two weeks. Most actors make less than you do. They fill in their income with waitering or whatever else. The people who make the "stupid money" usually get that after struggling for years, and there's, like, 20 of them. Or working from a young age while most kids are out pedaling their bikes. Don't reduce their experience by just skimming the rosy stuff off the top.

Sometimes, it helps your image, in the long run, NOT to be associated with Producers, Directors, Actors etc, that have a radically different viewpoint, either politically, theologically, or financially , than you do!...You make the best call you can...sometimes you're right and sometimes your wrong, but you still have to make the best decisions that suit YOUR needs, based on what's best for YOU!....I believe that's what Josh has done throughout his acting career and I believe he's better off for it! Actors do not always make what you think they make. They have to pay agents, and taxes. Who knows what bills they have to pay. You hear of celebrities going broke every day. They could start a business that doesn’t work out. They could have someone stealing there money. Look at all the money Tyson made. He was close to broke at one point. Celebrities can easily go broke if they don’t manage their money well. Josh Brolin is in great financial shape now!

According to the internet, which is always a reliable source, Josh turned down an opportunity to be in "new and upcoming" Green Lanterns movie in the new DCU, which now is managed and run by James Gunn and creating a new DCU cinematic universe. He also apparently turned down Terminator Salvation and, as mentioned, Avatar. I assume there's easily 20+ more roles he's turned down, but it seems sort of natural that WB would basically pay him a small kings ransom to be part of the new DCU.

Yeah single dudes without dependants and addictions can actually live on a very small amount easily (in the first world). 600k will get you 20 years if you have your abode sorted. 600K will get you 10-15 years if you have to rent.
