My scariest story is when my appendix Burst and I was 6 months pregnant with my son. Neither one of us was expected to live. The doctor also said one us could live without the other. Touch & go. I had emergency surgery.We both came through the surgery. But my son came 5 days after surgery. I continued praying that my 2 lbs 14 oz baby would make it. 3 months in ICU. He finally got to come home. He is now 42 years old with 2 children of his own. I'm so Blessed 😊

I was watching a sermon from a Pastor that is a very God fearing man. He was preaching on Repentance and Salvation. As I listened and read along in the Bible, I realized that most preachers don't actually teach the Bible word for word. I came to a realization that I really wasn't Saved. I was so scared of going to hell. I went to my knees and for several hours I repented for everything under the sun. When I got up, I came up a new person. I went and got Baptized again. Praise God.

Hi Dan and Lou, I enjoyed the video as always! My scariest time was when I was a little girl. Dad was an alcoholic, he quit shortly after this. It was the middle of the night, he had been drunk for days and was in black out mode. He was chasing mom with a motorcycle and said he was going to kill her. I was 8 years old. I was screaming and crying. He finally stopped and passed out in the lawn. I remember throwing up and shaking. I was terrified. I slept in my sisters bed with her. Dad quit with the help of AA and was very sorry. He’s 83 now and not doing well. I’ve forgiven him and praise Jesus he turned his life around. God is good! ❤

Cheesy potatoes are delicious. The issue y’all probably had, you tripled the recipe, but then baked it at the regular time. It needed longer, and it would have been less runny, more tender and creamy.😊 The time I was most scared, was probably when I took my sons sledding. The older one went down the hill, and somehow over a jump other kids had built. As he landed, he bit his lip clean through and started screaming! All I saw was blood everywhere. I managed to keep my composure until we got home and their dad walked through the door (they are my stepson’s) when I saw him, I broke down crying and shaking. Needless to say, our son was fine, we took him to the ER. He was a trooper and got 3 stitches. He was 6-7 then, he’s going to be 35 next month.❤

I make funeral potatoes, adding in ham chunks top with corn flakes, not chips. A little goes a long way at a reasonable price for big gatherings like a funeral. I have had many scary moments in my life. With dare devil children to cancer multiple times. I think my scariest was when my youngest daughter was delivering my granddaughter. She was full active labor crowning and decided she was not ready. She flipped and was stuck in the birth canal butt first. Had to do immediate c section without anesthesia. Almost lost both in a matter of seconds. Had to help hold her legs up so she could not push, while the doctor cut her open and pulled the baby out. At the same time, while the nurse pushed the baby back up, the birth canal was a very scary moment. Both turned out great, then was transported to surgery to close up mom.

Good Morning from Norfolk, Virginia ☕️ Dinner looks amazing. Now for your question, I am going to be like Kim. I have two. First time was when I was having my son. I had to deliver him via cesarean due to complications from preeclampsia. My body went into HELLP Syndrome. After he was born, my son developed a pneumothorax. One of his lungs collapsed. The hospital I had him at was not equipped to treat him. He was transferred the day after he was born across town to our children’s hospital. He was in the NICU for two weeks. He’s a fighter because he fought it without having to be on a ventilator. The second was more recent. I had to admit my husband into the hospital. I witnessed him have eight seizures. It’s one thing for me to witness my previous patients. It’s different when it’s your ones.

I'm from Utah.. We are known for cherries, peaches, apples, apricots, and plums. Funeral Potatoes are amazing. I cook them a lot. Also just 3 weeks ago was the most terrifying time of my life. I took a big fall and I fell down a ways and bounced my body and my head off concrete. I went to get up and all of a sudden I felt lightening bolts down both legs. After that I could not move from my waist down. My 17 year old son watched this all happen. He called 911 and I went from our local hospital in Soda Springs, Idaho to a bigger hospital in Pocatello, Idaho. Then they had to transfer me to the best hospital for trauma and that was the U of U in Salt Lake City, Utah. I went 2 days with no feeling at all on my lower extremities. All I could think is this my new life. Am I going to me a paraplegic. I was thinking I would never get to play with my grandbabies again or have outings with my children. I was terrified. Then finally I started to slowly get feeling back after they gave me a high dose of the strongest steroid around. They told me that my spine was so swollen and inflamed that it blocked all my nerves. I ended up with a spinal concussion and severe whiplash. I still have problems but I am staying positive that I will heal fully. I am thankful for what I have and I can play with my grandbabies and enjoy my children even though they are all adults now.

Hi Dan and Lou . We make those potatoes up here in Canada . They're called Schwartzies . We use a lot less soup and sour cream . Thats probably why they weren't liked so much . Also the soup has salt and so do the chips and cheese so no need to add any salt . Google Swartzies . Follow that recipe and you won't be disappointed . We use it as a side dish here and pair it with a baked glazed ham .
@WildfireLR5 күн бұрын
Here is the recipe Dan and Lou for Swartzies Hasbrowns 2 lbs. (1 kg) frozen hash brown potatoes 2 cups (500 mL) sour cream 2-10 oz. (284 ml) cans mushroom soup 1/2 cup melted butter grated onion to taste salt to taste 2 cups grated cheddar cheese 2 Tbsp. parmesan cheese Instructions Thaw potatoes slightly. Mix potatoes, sour cream, mushroom soup, butter, onion, salt and cheddar cheese in a 9 x 13″ baking dish. Sprinkle parmesan on top. Bake at 350F for 1 hour. Serves 8-10.

It is easier to mix it all in a big bowl, then put it in the pan. We just call them cheesy hash browns, and they are delicious!

I have a tip for you guys. Next time make them a recipe or,batch at a time and put them in one pan. Then mix up your other batches and do the same. The thickness of the casseroles matters as you cook them.

Chopped ham is really good in them. I like putting the fried onions on top.

Scariest time for me was going on a 3 day vacation by myself. Traveling from Abilene Tx to Cloudcroft NM was great. Coming home was a different story. It was dark when I decided to head back to Texas. There was an elk in the middle of the road and was not able to stop in time. I was unable to make a call. I was scared and felt alone. Thankfully for a family stopping and helping me and calling 911 for me. First time to be in a cop car. Cloudcroft police chief was great. Praise God I walked away from brand new truck was with a bruise on my arm from an airbag.

I would have baked that triple batch of potatoes a lot longer than the recipe said. When you double or triple recipes, you have to significantly increase the cooking time. A lot more of the liquid would have baked off and made them much better. The best funeral potatoes are made with frozen O'Brien Potatoes. They have green and red peppers and chopped onions included in them. Much tastier than just plain hash brown potatoes.

GM y'all. Great video. I wish we could of heard the full story about Jake. When you and Lou was telling your story's. Lou looks so pretty and a lot younger with her hair pull up and back. My scariest time was when my daughter went out with friends and didn't come back when the rest of her friends did. She was held against her will. By two guys. They all knew each other but wouldn't let her leave when she wanted to. My cousin is a police officer he and I and my son. A more family members was running to a lot of different locations trying to find her All night long . The next morning she came home on her own. Thank God. And needless to say my cousin went to where she came from . And the guys were taken to jail. She was fine just tired and scared . And upset because all her family was. Scariest day in my life !!

Don't forget to Salt and Pepper when mixing it I cook them halfway stir them then I add the crumble on top at the very end reasoning being at the very end I would like to make sure that the tails are cooked through before I put the flakes on top. Because you may have to cook them longer you can't always go by what they say

The potatoes look delicious. ❤😊 My scariest moment was when I was 5 my adopted father was super drunk and was beating up my Mother. I got out of bed and went out and told him I was calling my Grandfather. He grabbed me and threw me outside in the middle of a blizzard and told me to go to my Grandfather's house. It was dark and snowing like crazy my Grandfather lived a half mile away from us. All I had on was panties it was so cold. I new I'd never make it there so I went the other way to our nearest neighbors house. I barely made there and was pounding on the door. After a long time the Father opened the door when he saw me grabbed me and threw me in a blanket and took me to my Grandparents. Needless to say he didn't live there anymore.
