My scariest story is when my appendix Burst and I was 6 months pregnant with my son. Neither one of us was expected to live. The doctor also said one us could live without the other. Touch & go. I had emergency surgery. We both came through the surgery. But my son came 5 days after surgery. I continued praying that my 2 lbs 14 oz baby would make it. 3 months in ICU. He finally got to come home. He is now 42 years old with 2 children of his own. I'm so Blessed 😊

Hi Dan and Lou, I enjoyed the video as always! My scariest time was when I was a little girl. Dad was an alcoholic, he quit shortly after this. It was the middle of the night, he had been drunk for days and was in black out mode. He was chasing mom with a motorcycle and said he was going to kill her. I was 8 years old. I was screaming and crying. He finally stopped and passed out in the lawn. I remember throwing up and shaking. I was terrified. I slept in my sisters bed with her. Dad quit with the help of AA and was very sorry. He’s 83 now and not doing well. I’ve forgiven him and praise Jesus he turned his life around. God is good! ❤

I was watching a sermon from a Pastor that is a very God fearing man. He was preaching on Repentance and Salvation. As I listened and read along in the Bible, I realized that most preachers don't actually teach the Bible word for word. I came to a realization that I really wasn't Saved. I was so scared of going to hell. I went to my knees and for several hours I repented for everything under the sun. When I got up, I came up a new person. I went and got Baptized again. Praise God.

Cheesy potatoes are delicious. The issue y’all probably had, you tripled the recipe, but then baked it at the regular time. It needed longer, and it would have been less runny, more tender and creamy.😊 The time I was most scared, was probably when I took my sons sledding. The older one went down the hill, and somehow over a jump other kids had built. As he landed, he bit his lip clean through and started screaming! All I saw was blood everywhere. I managed to keep my composure until we got home and their dad walked through the door (they are my stepson’s) when I saw him, I broke down crying and shaking. Needless to say, our son was fine, we took him to the ER. He was a trooper and got 3 stitches. He was 6-7 then, he’s going to be 35 next month.❤

I make funeral potatoes, adding in ham chunks top with corn flakes, not chips. A little goes a long way at a reasonable price for big gatherings like a funeral. I have had many scary moments in my life. With dare devil children to cancer multiple times. I think my scariest was when my youngest daughter was delivering my granddaughter. She was full active labor crowning and decided she was not ready. She flipped and was stuck in the birth canal butt first. Had to do immediate c section without anesthesia. Almost lost both in a matter of seconds. Had to help hold her legs up so she could not push, while the doctor cut her open and pulled the baby out. At the same time, while the nurse pushed the baby back up, the birth canal was a very scary moment. Both turned out great, then was transported to surgery to close up mom.

I make these every holiday. Heres the things I do to mine. Cook crispy bacon, save the grease, and coat the bottom of the pan with it. Add the crumbled bacon to the mix along with the soups, onion, sour cream, and cheese (measure with your heart). I use crushed corn flakes on top. Melt 1 stick of butter and pour that over the top. We call them hash brown casserole.

Don’t know if it was the same company but never have ridden a ferris wheel again.

I have 2 grown kids now, but when they were younger, like 10 and 14 maybe - they went to Florida (I'm from Illinois) for a week to be with my brother. They flew there with him, then coming home, they were alone. Well, not literally alone, but had a person that worked for the airline to watch over them. I was at the airport waiting for them, very anxiously. Then I was notified that the airline they were both on, had to be diverted to Indiana due to a storm coming into St. Louis. My babies were not coming to me. I dropped to my knees immediately and prayed to Jesus for His divine help. I stayed on my knees for hours. The storm finally blew over and they were on their way back to me in St. Louis airport. I was the most scared during those hours on my knees then I ever have been. I know Jesus saves, and He sure did save me that day. He also saved my babies, they are now 32 and 36. Love you all xoxo Nancy

Good Morning from Norfolk, Virginia ☕️ Dinner looks amazing. Now for your question, I am going to be like Kim. I have two. First time was when I was having my son. I had to deliver him via cesarean due to complications from preeclampsia. My body went into HELLP Syndrome. After he was born, my son developed a pneumothorax. One of his lungs collapsed. The hospital I had him at was not equipped to treat him. He was transferred the day after he was born across town to our children’s hospital. He was in the NICU for two weeks. He’s a fighter because he fought it without having to be on a ventilator. The second was more recent. I had to admit my husband into the hospital. I witnessed him have eight seizures. It’s one thing for me to witness my previous patients. It’s different when it’s your ones.

I think your hashbrown casserole is like the one they make at Cracker Barrel. But you said you were tripling the recipe but you didn't use all the potatoes so there was too much sour cream and soup in the mixture. It would have had a different consistency. But I love your videos!!
@pickypants969620 күн бұрын
I would have baked that triple batch of potatoes a lot longer than the recipe said. When you double or triple recipes, you have to significantly increase the cooking time. A lot more of the liquid would have baked off and made them much better. The best funeral potatoes are made with frozen O'Brien Potatoes. They have green and red peppers and chopped onions included in them. Much tastier than just plain hash brown potatoes.

I'm from Utah.. We are known for cherries, peaches, apples, apricots, and plums. Funeral Potatoes are amazing. I cook them a lot. Also just 3 weeks ago was the most terrifying time of my life. I took a big fall and I fell down a ways and bounced my body and my head off concrete. I went to get up and all of a sudden I felt lightening bolts down both legs. After that I could not move from my waist down. My 17 year old son watched this all happen. He called 911 and I went from our local hospital in Soda Springs, Idaho to a bigger hospital in Pocatello, Idaho. Then they had to transfer me to the best hospital for trauma and that was the U of U in Salt Lake City, Utah. I went 2 days with no feeling at all on my lower extremities. All I could think is this my new life. Am I going to me a paraplegic. I was thinking I would never get to play with my grandbabies again or have outings with my children. I was terrified. Then finally I started to slowly get feeling back after they gave me a high dose of the strongest steroid around. They told me that my spine was so swollen and inflamed that it blocked all my nerves. I ended up with a spinal concussion and severe whiplash. I still have problems but I am staying positive that I will heal fully. I am thankful for what I have and I can play with my grandbabies and enjoy my children even though they are all adults now.

Thank you for sharing this video with us. 👍🇨🇦😊 The most scary incident that I have ever experienced is….going to the mountains for a ski trip…and getting onto a “run” that was a little too experienced for my level. A ski guide noticed our hesitation to ski down & asked if we needed his help to ski down. We definitely needed his expertise to ski the moguls & the steepness of the run. He gave us confidence & we managed fine with his help. Thank goodness for the ski guides that we have in Banff National Park. ⛷️🎿 We love our Winter activities.

I have seen so many videos of tht place and it’s beautiful 🥰 I sooo wanna come up to Canada and come to Banff, especially during the winter. Even tho I do hate the cold temps, LOL.

@ It is so beautiful! It is a sight to behold. Even though I have visited many times, it’s hard to believe that I have that beauty in “my backyard” only a 3 hr drive away. 👍🇨🇦😊😍 We have people all over the world that come to visit every year. We have international skiers that come to work here every year. They are never disappointed.

@ yes, u all r very blessed. Canada is a beautiful place, at least from everything tht I have seen. I live in Ky, here in the US. I hope tht one day I will get to see at least some of Canada. I think it’s just so beautiful and especially when it snows, it’s breathtaking. We hardly ever get any snow here anymore. The only thing we get is rain , and the past few yrs it’s felt like Florida at Christmas time, so unusual. I love the mountains and snow, it just makes it “feel” more like Christmas to me.

@@LauraE15 So beautiful! You really have to experience it…to believe exactly how awesome it is. You can always dress for the weather conditions. 👍😊❄️☃️👏 Even if you don’t ski, there are beautiful restaurants there, & you can hang out in the chalet for a hot chocolate or a hot toddy. 👍☕️ There are other things to do there besides skiing. Skating…touring around…maybe get to see some wildlife there, if you are lucky. Shopping…lots of awesome things to see. Canmore is close to Banff too. I love Canmore even more. We usually rent an AirBnB in Canmore & drive to Banff. Great restaurants & quaint shops too. There is a great local ski area there too. Norquay..there are a lot more green & intermediate “runs” there. You can go tobogganing too. If you can, it’s a great destination. It’s much warmer in the Spring. Spring skiing conditions are awesome. You might not even have to wear a heavy jacket at that time. 👍😊🎿⛷️⛸️🛷

Hi Dan and Lou . We make those potatoes up here in Canada . They're called Schwartzies . We use a lot less soup and sour cream . Thats probably why they weren't liked so much . Also the soup has salt and so do the chips and cheese so no need to add any salt . Google Swartzies . Follow that recipe and you won't be disappointed . We use it as a side dish here and pair it with a baked glazed ham .

Here is the recipe Dan and Lou for Swartzies Hasbrowns 2 lbs. (1 kg) frozen hash brown potatoes 2 cups (500 mL) sour cream 2-10 oz. (284 ml) cans mushroom soup 1/2 cup melted butter grated onion to taste salt to taste 2 cups grated cheddar cheese 2 Tbsp. parmesan cheese Instructions Thaw potatoes slightly. Mix potatoes, sour cream, mushroom soup, butter, onion, salt and cheddar cheese in a 9 x 13″ baking dish. Sprinkle parmesan on top. Bake at 350F for 1 hour. Serves 8-10.

One evening when I was stressed out, I was driving home and about 1/2 block from where I was there was an explosion inside a building. It really scared me because I thought it was a bomb that dropped down. I never did find out what happened because I got out of there in a hurry. It was quite a while before I caught my breath and could relax.

The potatoes looked good to me, think I will try making them. Scary moment for me was when I was pregnant with my daughter. I was huge, thinking it was twins the doctor sent me for an ultrasound only to find out it was heart issues with the baby, so bad they tried to tell me I should not have her. After months of tests and hospital stayed she was born by ruptured uterus. Doctors told me after they weren't sure they were going to be able to save either of us. Heather lived 6 year 1 month 4 days with many heart and lung surgeries.

Those are my favorite potatoes, we call them Heavenly potatoes. That was definitely too much sour cream and I'd add more cheese and some butter. Go big or go home, lol. And my husband died pretty suddenly a few years ago, that did it for me.

My ex beat me up when I was 8 months pregnant, 30 years ago. I had to deliver early and had a seizure on the operating table during the c-section. It was touch and go and my daughter and I almost died. Thank God we lived.
