3:00 i will never forget an accident that happened when i was in the 5th grade ('99-'00) i was watching my schools cheerleaders practicing in the gym. "all they did" was just make a pyramid and i believe there was supposed to be some sort of toss to the top but the flyer slipped and she fell 15 or so feet straight down on her head/neck right on the gym floor "no mat". she was life flighted to the hospital but i never saw her again since i went to a different school that next year. i worried about her for my entire life since i never found out if she was ok, i remember thinking about her well into my 20s and thinking how she has no idea that someone other than her immediate family had been thinking/worrying about her for all these years. because of that i absolutely hated watching stunts, and worried about every girl that i knew/dated who cheered. one day my father was in the hospital and my mother (who worked at my school as a lunch lady at the time) remembered her/what happened and saw her working as a nurse at the hospital. i wasnt there but she called me and told me that she saw her and they talked and caught up a little and she told her about me worrying/wondering about her for all these years, and she told me that she was able to get back to school and "normal life" pretty quickly and that she was ok. its crazy to think about basically worrying about a person you dont even know for decades of your life and then just out of nowhere one day finding out that they are perfectly fine and moved past the accident pretty quickly. i dont know if she stunted anymore after that though.
