This experiment is definitely interesting, thanks for the video! I actually used to own one of these back when they first launched and remembered how awfully they were optimized for gaming, ended up selling it (for a profit surprisingly) for a 1080 pre order and put my 780 back in. in gta V you are hitting the engine limit which causes massive stutters. anything over 160fps you can see stuttering start to take place

a full day testing, crashing, adjusting,etc. the PSU smelled crispy like i welded something.

Titan Z has 6GB VRAM on each GPU. That actually makes it more capable today, than a pair of regular GTX 780 Ti (only 3GB).

True. Its not the end. First thing I wanted to test was because previously I tested them it the second slot was x8 and now was x16. True that some games requires more hz on the cpu cores.

It's incredible that this card only has one fan. It must be a very good high performing one. But the cooler design is not bad. Big dual hestsink/vaporchamber design with a fan in center, and a shroud that channels the airflow strait to the heatsink and takes it out on both ends.

The only problem is that there are to many components on that plate and the avg temps are lifted. I think vapor chamber back in the days was not that efficient and using it on 2 bga chips was big risk. today they are very efficient and it will nice if it was possible to upgrade them.

Might be worth investing in a 6950x and some samsung b die ddr4, that cpu is almost as fast as a 5800x in games when tuned properly and you still get 40pcie lanes! Good video man😊

i went down the rabbit hole and the 6950x is the winner because one single option. the xeon was better a little but the i7 has Unlock multiplier and the xeon doesn`t.

GTA V - you are likely hitting the engine limit. Try capping the frame rate to, say, 144.

Im pretty sure this is a bad pairing, pretty sure any game old enough to run on on the Z and particularly while properly supporting sli would prefer a fast low core count CPU

Thats insane to think that back in the day one titan z cost 3k$ from the time Nvidia math was wrong :D Titan cost 1k, so nvidia thought that titan 1k$ + titan 1k$ = titan z 3k$ :D

Back then there is no AIB or retail actually selling Titan Z. the card is exclusive to boutique seller only.

Yeah, switch out that Xeon to a i7 5930K or if you find the 5960X or newer 6800K so you can overclock it. 2.8Ghz on all those cores doesnt cut it at all.

This Chanel is Like WayBack machine, but for multi GPU setups. If you have some resources, you can find AM4 platform with official SLI support 😏 Imagine SLI on 5800x3D. Did even enyone test that?

Titan Z Quad SLI ! Wow... Awesome! That is 4x GK110B GPUs. You can boil water with those 4 chips. 60 FPS (locked) in Skyrim @ near 600 Watts. No power efficiency award there 😊

Maybe the overheating is because the thermal paste has dried out or is of poor quality. Did you check the hotspot?

New thermal paste. i order now new thermal pads and more efficient. Maybe it will help.

@@DanielCardei I used the artic mx6 on my 3090 and I went from 105° on the hotspot to 86°

the game is capped at 188fps. whatever setup you have that can go higher will stutter
