At 4:23 the strategy analyzer says its Sharpe ratio is 0.72. That means it's taking a lot of risk. A Sharpe ratio above 2 considered good, anything over 3 is excellent. Anything under 1 is not worth running.

YES! give it another shot! I think that full auto algo trading is a bit optimistic, but getting to know one instrument (when I tried it I stick to MES) and doing a quick market assessment before running the also could turn into a low effort/low stress trading system! not-full auto, but for the low effort I think it'd be worth it :) Good luck and looking forward to the next video!

Full algo trading works. You need a zoo of working algos, though. Thoroughly backtested. Knowing when they work, and when they don't. All profitable. And then employ them altogether. Monitor them. Execute them. Quality check them. They all stop to work sooner or later. And therefore you need to constantly do research for new ones. So basically having a working process to have ideas, thoroughly analyze and challenge them. Discard the bad ones. Optimize the good ones. Then deploy them and milk them while they work. A lot of work. No get rich quick scheme. And needs a sharp mind, a humble approach, and on top of that a decent work ethic.

It is great to see someone showing their experience with methods and Algos that they are testing live. So many channels test and optomise trading strategies but they only ever back test them, even if they use a papermoney account you never see them prospectively test these strategies. So while I would hate to see you loose money, as you are one of the few people who actually show their live trading, yes please do continue to test the algo. It is interesting to hear what you make of it. It has always bugged me too how something can be profitable for one person, or for one period of time, but then exactly the same thing looses money for someone else doing what should be exactly the same thing. I would like to see better and more detailed analysis of what exactly is being done in the profitable situations, compared to when what should have been the same methodology resulted in losses.

Any system that uses that much leverage is practically guaranteed to eventually go bust or have a catastrophic -80%+ drawdown. I'd look into using less leverage and swing trading longer timeframes. You won't get the +100% a week or whatever is promised, but all anyone needs to become wealthy is about 20-40% per year if you are patient. I've been developing systems at Grizzly Bulls, and my best, is down just -1.58% in 2022 vs. -17.39% for the S&P 500, with lower drawdown and volatility for a nearly +16% outperformance margin, using no leverage (always either 1x long or in cash).

I truly love Daniel's channel because of his honesty. The only people making money with these kind of promising bots, algorithms, strategies etc. are the ones we are paying to. If you want to make money, you have to create value for others. By buying something, you will not make money the next day, period.

Great video and as always, I appreciate your transparency. I think the biggest thing I've learned from your videos and from my own 4 month futures trading experiment is that futures are tricky, can make you money and can definitely lose you money just as easily. I'm sure we would all love to see you do another month. Maybe you can get a few paper accounts going alongside the real money account to get several different outcomes. Either way thanks for continuing to make good content.

Yes. NinjaTrader allows you to have several simulation accounts while alongside of your personal account. He could run minis and see how the folks that are making $500 to 3k a day are doing it.. they all have accounts over 7k and trade 1 mini or more per trade. I typically tell folks to not trade minis unless they have AT LEAST 10k in their account as futures can be unforgiving.

Then stuff happens like in the video, that you can't buy or sell for some "technical issue" and you will lose all your profit, while Ninja Trading and Lauren are still the big winner. This is how scammer are working. Same like system lotteries. The winner numbers are bought by the system lotteries itself. With NT, I think the margin required to take the trade also considers your auto stop loss level so perhaps you had enough margin for the initial trade, as mentioned, but if the trade turned on you, you wouldn't have had enough margin to cover the loss of where your stop loss was placed?? just a thought. "Why would anyone sell a trading algorithm when they just can scale it up themselves": Many reasons a) Affiliate commissions. Trading Bot providers recommend you to use their house broker, which typically pays ongoing commissions on the trades the retail traders make b) Revenue from sales. Trading bots sell from under $100 to up to $1000 per license c) The more people that use your strategy, the more likely it will work. Granted, the FX Market is huge so the impact is neglectable. But still, as you often operate within market makers, it could have an impact. So it definitely makes sense to sell Trading algorithms.

I appreciate that you shared this. This is the first time I’ve seen a Trading Bot in action. As for testing it out for another month, personally I am indifferent to that. It would be cool of course and I would watch it. I’d just hope it would be more successful for you next time. What I would find more interesting though, is if you made your own Trading Bot and tested it out even with just paper trading. Not sure if you’d want to commit the time to doing that, but to see something in action where you can explain the logic you implemented would be cool. Even if it were a video series showing the development from learning to having a functioning trading bot. Just a thought.

A few years ago I personally tested over 1000 algos on an MT4 back tester and without fail they ALL lost. Maybe the algos have improved. I even got some written for me and they lost too. One called Gallileo looks interesting but I haven't tested it. Maybe someone else has ??

Some people say you have to stay as much consistent as possible to your strategy, but still i think that sometimes you have to adjust your reward to loss ratios depending on the situation. So what I would like to say is that you may have a clever algorytm but the algorythm is written by a person and person makes mistakes and never predict anything without a risk, but adjusting the algorithm is necessary, because the first strategy when you entered the trade somethinmes has to be adjusted according to the new situation on the market because it takes less risk and mistake to predict closer future compared to predict the far future.

U should come up with a rule based system for determining trend vs range environment. It's something that pro traders do everyday religiously before mkt open. Definitely curious to see your results trying this again. Otherwise, I think your expectations were a bit unrealistic headed into this, even despite your skepticism. $1.5k/month would be ridiculously cheap for a 100% hands off net profitable algo trading strategy. For that price it is not unreasonable to have to tweak it. Great video, gl

Have you considered looking at the algos on the Collective2 marketplace? Strategies there use a copytrade system with prices around 100$/mo for a subscription. You can see how long someone's system has been live and if they take their own signals.

Yes. I agree. YM is super solid as well as NQ on the trend Algo. Nasdaq is my favorite though, so I always start with that product when I have a new Algo developed.
