“i was following my plan b, instead of my dream.” dan, it would’ve been kinder of you to actively stab me rather than present me with this level of deeply resonant sincerity. fine, i’ll look at universities, fine, you got me.
@evercuriousmichelle4 ай бұрын
I realized at 33 that I was also following my plan b instead of my dream of teaching a language, oof. I was so convinced of my plan b that now I don’t fully trust myself that this even is my plan a… is my plan a still repressed and this is just another side quest on the effort to avoid my fear of failing at something I care about?

Many years ago, I paid for a close friend to continue attending karate lessons when he was temporarily unemployed so he didn't have to give up something he loved He now runs his own karate club (amongst other work) and is married to someone he met through karate It wasn't much money at all, but 100% worth supporting a friend who went onto bigger, better things 😊

"I'm the cousin you're relieved to see at the family wedding [...]" is such a perfect way to describe how I felt about your online presence! Whenever I see a video of yours it's got such comforting: "it'll be better"-vibes and knowing that you didn't give up on being an actor, but rather that it was just a break, before going into Round 2 is quite inspiring to hear. Best of luck!

As a musical theatre graduate, I have one piece of advice for you: get a journal and write down your WHY - your reason for doing this, your justification, your dreams, your hopes and desires, your achievements so far, etc. Write down all of this and keep it somewhere where you can easily access it. There will be tough days when you're training where you will receive so much criticism, so much correction, so much 'hmm, not quite' and so much 'failure' that you will start to think you cant do if. But you absolutely can. Just look in that journal again, get reinspired, dust yourself off and KEEP TRYING. Dont let your ego stop you. Go in there, be open to failure, be open to learning things slowly, be open to imperfection, and you will succeed.

I started watching your videos around 2014/15, when I had decided I wanted to be serious about becoming an actor, and your passion about acting an musical theatre gave me so much motivation to get myself out there. I then fell out of love with acting just before the pandemic, and had convinced myself it wasnt realistic for me, and the pandemic just cemented it, and I just naturally moved away from many of the youtubers I had loved, including this channel. And then this year, my passion and drive for acting has come back even stronger than it was before, and I managed to get myself into an acting school, starting in January, and then this video pops up in my recommended, and it just has really made it all feel so right, and all of the reservations I had left about pursuing acting again have gone away. I am so beyond happy for you to be taking such an incredible step towards your dreams, and Ill do anything I can to support you, because you are a big part of me doing the same. Congrats! 🎉

It made me realize how privileged I was because the drama school I went to was free. But she made her dream happened and so are you, and I'm so proud of both of you ! You're doing it Dan !
