Daniel was strong. Despite all of the troubles he had, he learnt how to laugh at his problems, openly talk about them, and even more, create art about them Art was like therapy for Daniel, it made him feel and understand himself better. And at the same time, his way of coping also helped and taught us more about our own problems I feel like to be an artist, is to be a teacher, and Daniel excelled at that

Thank you for sharing this. I prefer to see Daniel when he's just being himself, so this small budget production feels charming. Daniel is never going to leave us, even if everyone forgets his name someday. His music comforts me in ways I'm not yet able to understand. Art isn't a waste of time. Embrace the hardships along with the joyful times life has to offer. True love will find you in the end.

He had some amazing parents.

Their relationship was complicated. His mom kind of abused him as a kid saying his music was from the devil. But they did take care of him as he got older. So it’s complicated. If he wasn’t mentally ill they probably wouldn’t seem like such great parents in retrospect.

Daniel was no more crazy than most people I observe in my circles! I hope you see my point. May he has found the place he wanted according to his ideas. R.I.P. Gregxx...🦇

Just 3 minutes in but the lady shooting the video is most definitely dutch speaking (Netherlands). Loladamusica was a dutch music program on VPRO but I can't find if they ever did a piece on Daniel.

Always amazed me that whenever Daniel was filmed smoking, his cigarette was always right down to the butt. Kinda poetic.

There's a video like this but much lower quality and with german subtitles on youtube and I believe it was from a dutch TV program covering Daniel Johnston.
