I love Danielle. I've supported her since she stepped on the tour and she made her first deep run. I remember thinking if she plays as consistently as she can with her game she def has gram slam potential. Now, look at where she is :) congrats! such a fierce competitor and what I've always loved about Danielle is that you can feel her fights in every match and you tell she cares soo much about her tennis! Im a huge fan.

Danielle is an absolute gem! Just look at her radiant, confident, humble self! Such a class-act, on and off the court with her elegantly aggressive tennis, crafty exploration of the court geometry and the intense tenacity she oozes! I'm a fan, she's won me over :D hopefully it will be another great match vs Ash in the finals!

Danielle Collins and Paula Badosa are my two favourite players. I love their intense focus and mental strength. They are both overachievers. Some players underachieve and do not live up to their potential, other players overachieve and surpass what people expect from them. Danielle Collins and Paula Badosa both remind me of another mentally tough overachiever - Maria Sharapova.

There's a few potential on the Girls Side,Badosa was a fave but anyone can be anyone but Collins is just another beast power beauty and grace and u can't compared them to Sharapova she's better power wise not grand slam yet.Double Backhand is the secret weapon did Sharapova have that no the serves way better and bigger and plus she doesn't scream every point like she did

There's a lot of depth there. More than what you see in many pro players, and I'm sure some of that can be attributed to her struggles along the way. She gets criticized for not smiling etc., but I think you can see here that she's just focused on the job at hand and doesn't suffer fools. When she gets a boring or redundant question, she'll answer flatly and move on. But when she gets a thoughtful question that shows genuine interest and attention to detail, she lights up, smiles, and answers thoughtfully.

Also some people seem to misunderstand Danielle a lot, I've seen it happen a lot to confident, intense women over the years (such as the Williams sisters, Vika Azarenka in particular and so many more). A clear example of that is when a commentator said after one of Danielle's screams: 'Is this her best look? Does she care? No.' I found this comment funny, it made me laugh, but at the same time, it made me think about it more: why would anyone comment on a tennis player's looks while they are releasing tension or celebrating a point. You would never hear them ask the same question about Rafa, even though he's had so many even more intense point celebrations over the past, and we all love him for it! When a woman does it, 'oh, it's not her best look, but she doesn't care'.. Just respect tenacity and intensity in tennis players as people and athletes across all disciplines! I hope Danielle never loses it, even though she hasn't had that many screams of joy throughout the tournament despite playing some exquisite tennis!

Danielle is such an intelligent, fully formed young woman. Beautiful in and out. She deserves all the success, and am happy she's making even longer strides on the biggest stages after finally feeling healthy enough to produce this utterly dominant tennis of hers! The fact she spent her formative years away from the media is also telling, she's got unique, insightful intelligence to her and confidence to match. Clearly enjoys working on the tactics of every match, mostly on her own, and you can even notice the differences she applies to her game with respect to every opponent so that she can execute her A game. It's not all ball bashing, just A-game tennis at all, there are tactical nuances she tweaks in every match, it's beautiful to watch. Now let's see how she fares against another amazing tactician in Ash! Should be a fun match :)

To the reporter asking Danielle about Ash's serve and how 'it's not the fastest serve on tour' (to which Danielle then respectfully said 'it's got a lot of variety, and that's why it's so effective'): Ash Barty is serving on average in the 175-180s km/h! Such numbers have been produced consistently by the best servers on tour: Williams sisters, Osaka, Pliskova, Keys, Sabalenka (LOL) etc... So Ash's serve is in fact one of the fastest in addition to having variety and precision. And imo, that's why potentially everyone is struggling against her these days, cos she's amped her serve up (without compromising on the variety and precision), and she's added more revolutions per minute (more rotation, higher speed) to her BH slice, and that's what shocks people. Ash is playing better than in her prime years, which were 2019 - 2021. It's a whole new level, and it will be fun watching Danielle trying to tackle it! :)

Most have never heard of her. I told them that if they have never heard of this excellent tennis player, soon they all will. I know what I saw. Here we are...finals of a major. As fantastic a story that a victory by local girl Ashleigh Barty would be, this time around I've gotta stick by my girl Danielle Collins! I've been a fan ever since she broke onto the scene several years ago. Her aggressive demeanor will be an asset when she faces Barty in the final. No one I can think of would be better equipped to thrive in an environment that will be understandably biased. She's not likely to show up armed with a variety of weapons, and then neglect to use them. And I love the fact that she chose to finish school. It's evident in her press conferences.

Interesting stuff about her unusual late blooming career path. I've always quipped you pretty much better be in the pro circuit at age 18 otherwise it's too late, eg, young soccer players need to be heading to European leagues (for Americans) tennis players need to be hitting satellite matches, baseball in some semi-pro league A,AA,AAA etc. You're seeing a little bit more of that though recently going to school and then making it in a professional leagues anyway, college soccer drafts, headed to the MLB etc. Maybe the competition in college like everywhere else has gotten more intense to the point it can bridge you to the pros. One paradox is that some European players snag an American college schollie after washing out of satellites in Europe, (sometimes illegally as they were technically pros but the record keeping is sketchy) Anyway, it's a remarkable story, no coach, public courts, taking the college route and going pro relatively late and now, at 28 in the finals of a grand slam, one of the best two players in the world at the moment.

I've been rooting for Danielle in the finals just because she's a very pretty young lady with amazingly beautiful legs. She could have won if she played consistently at the high level she demonstrated when she was 5:1 ahead in the second set. But alas, that was beyond her powers. She's not an iron lady; rather fragile indeed. That's why I love her. With Barty's insane first serve, Danielle had slim chances, to be honest. In terms of skills, female tennis is funny to watch for many reasons. If you want to know why just watch the Nadal vs Meddy finals tomorrow and compare their play with that of the lady finalists. The gap between these pairs of finalists is embarrassingly wide in terms of skillset.
