It’s not even that. Jesse only has chemistry with someone when she’s not actually together with them. She had chemistry with Archie (Mal) in s1 until they actually got together in s2 and then it evaporated. Same thing with Ben (Darkling) - we’re familiar with them so the chemistry doesn’t hold up as much as it does with Pat (Nikolai). Rn, Alina seems to have the most chemistry with Nikolai but that’s because it’s all still fresh

Yessss I think Darklina had such a strong powerful chemistry romantically, whereas Malina worked as a friendship duo and I just can't see them generating enough impact with romance 🤷🏽‍♀️ I was so frustrated that the Darkling was the villain bc I was really sold on his romantic scenes with Alina 👀 Edit for clarity: I meant Darklina romantic chemistry was strong before Kirigan was revealed as the villain. Obvs it was appalling after all the manipulation and abuse, I'm not about to dig a hole and stick a tall pole in the ground and wave the giant red (or black I guess?) flag for Alina to salute upon 😂😂😂
