Rock has a long tradition of singing drummers. However it has become less common in the age of video, it’s just better marketing to have someone out front. Most bands that had or have drummers that sing lead usually had/have multiple lead singers. Or like Genesis and Haim, bring another drummer on the road so the singing drummer doesn’t have to play every song. While it’s not as difficult to sing and play coordination wise as non musicians think it is, it would be taxing from a cardio perspective to handle ALL the vocals during a 2 hour concert while drumming. Especially hard rock drummers who hit hard.

Also with Haim they do have other lead singers. The other sisters also sing lead and both sisters play the drums. Don't know if they play drums and sing at the same time like Danielle , but they are a well rounded group.

If you want to see that, you should check out The Warning (another sister trio, much younger than Haim). Paulina Villarreal hits those drums like they owe her money while singing. But she doesn’t sing as many songs as Danielle. She’d be gassed lol
