Whenever Morissette sings, there's color everywhere 🌈 because of the many colors in her voice, she's like a master painter with a lot of colors in her pallette and is able to use them to create a wonderful piece of art in bright hues. 🥰 For a long time I thought this was an original song by Christian Bautista as I heard this first from him and it was part of his first album in 2004. And then last year, Morissette did a remake with the Universal Records Philippines, in what seemed to me as part of tribute to Christian celebrating his 20th year in the music industry. Reading the comments section, I found out that it was actually originally sung by Deana Carter, an American country music singer, in 1998. I also learned that there was a cover by an American boy group Youth Asylum and was included in their album in 2000. I had to listen to all these renditions. 😊 Mori's modern version seems to me as somewhat a crossover between Deana and Christian's renditions. As always, she "Mori-fied" this and made it her own, I like better her diction and enunciation than the other versions, the words are pronounced clearly (such as the "rose") and, as you mentioned, the brightness in her tone because of her smile, we can feel the love and sweetness of this beautiful song. Wow! Two Morissette reactions in one week. It can't get any better. Mori's technical ability and control are insane. Her voice has got colour everywhere. I feel she knows exactly how she wants to sound and she executes it in a way that very few artists can achieve. But we all know that it's her ability to express the emotion of the song that makes her a great singer. I am completely hooked and I plan to sit back and enjoy the ride.
