If you haven't seen the new "Score" clip they posted on the Wicked channel, it is VERY interesting!! I remember after my second time watching the movie, I wandered if the whole cast and crew were familiar with and/or required to see a stage performance of the show before working on it. Even though it's the same story and songs, there was something fresh about this production, aside from it just being a movie adaptation. Turns out, the composer HAD NEVER SEEN THE SHOW 🤯 And Stephen Schwartz actually *embraced* that as a way to bring a new perspective to the music, which is so admirable and innovative!! They perfectly balanced new vs. known when it came to this movie, and that played massively into making it a hit for both familiar and non-familiar viewers!
