The arrangement and video were both done by Layne. They filmed it at Pattycake Productions. This came out beautifully done and so cinematic! I love the music box idea. It just fits so well.

Welcome to the Voiceplay rabbit hole. I started with Pentatonix and searched for other acapella groups. Voiceplay came up with Little Mermaid and I watched it. Been hooked on them ever since. Most of their videos are full productions with costume, make-up, set and lighting etc. All of them get right into character so they sing from the heart as if they were playing the part in a movie, (if you know this movie, check out the look between Layne and Rachel during Never Enough to see how they get into character). It's worth checking out all their videos. Some are just the singers seated like most acapella groups do, but Layne owns his own studio (Pattycake Productions) and both Geoff and Layne do most of the mixing and video editing. It's does help that they both seem to be in competition to see who can do it better, because every video they do is better than the last one. Geoff Castelucci also has his own channel on KZbin and does his own productions, they are also worth checking out if you like a deep bass and good harmonies.

Right now they are one permanent member short. Their high tenor left about two years ago and they’ve yet by to find anyone to replace him. But since they aren’t touring due to Covid they are taking advantage of the missing person spot by featuring a lot of artists that they have worked with in the past or even sometimes someone new. Rachel has been in 10 or 11 of their videos going all the way back to when Tony was there in the Phantom of the Opera. She played Ariel at Disney World for five years so you really should check out their version of Little Mermaid - she kills it.(and we get the added fun of Geoff , the bass singer, playing Ursula the sea witch! ) If you go back and watch their older videos you’ll see that they’ve had a few personal changes over the 20+ years that they’ve been performing.

One thing I admire about Voiceplay are the little touches they add such as in the Little Mermaid Medley when Eli is playing both Scuttle and Sébastien in the Kiss the Girl part when Scuttle squawks all of them look off camera as if looking at Scuttle. Here there is the look between Layne and Rachel as they do the Rewrite the Stars part as a reference to Zac Efron's and Zandaya's characters. Great little touches that add to the whole video
