The language in the Netherlands’ song is called Sranantongo. The language was banned by the Netherlands during colonial times because slaves used it to communicate with each other. It’s incredibly powerful that a song about slavery, sung in a language forbidden by colonizers is now representing set country without being censored.

Having 0 points from the public doesn't mean nobody vote for them, but that they didn't make it in the top 10 in any country. A song can have very few votes, but it it makes it in the top ten in one country, it'll have points.
@supermannnblablabla3 жыл бұрын
If it has very few votes but still made it into a country’s top 10 televote, then everything else must have got VERY few votes. 🤣🤣 Please just stop trying to justify poor scores. We know it doesn’t literally mean 0 votes because that is virtually impossible with hundred of millions of viewers. Did you just realise this or something?
@Kernel153 жыл бұрын
@@supermannnblablabla What they mean is that 11th in jury and 11th in televote gets nil points even though many may have voted for them, but 10th in televote and 25th in jury means they'll get more points anyway even though objectively speaking the first song was probably better. Or that if in televoting, 38 countries give you 11th place (no points) vs 1 country giving you 10th place (1 point) and the other 37 putting you down in last... but the second song will place higher because of that 1 point. Nothing to do with the total number of votes they received.
@supermannnblablabla3 жыл бұрын
@@Kernel15 I know what they meant and how the point system works. But they said that a country could still be in the top 10 televote of a country with few actual votes, but either way, anything ranked below that must have got even fewer votes so it doesn’t justify getting 0 points by THEIR logic. Either way, there is obviously AT LEAST a few thousand votes for every contestant per country seeming as Eurovision is watched by over 200 million people (I think). I hope this makes sense lol.
@alftuvik38203 жыл бұрын
@@supermannnblablabla Depends on the country and how big or small their population is, plus what usually happens in most shows with televotes is that the majority will vote for the same 1-3 songs, while the rest could potentially be very close, in smaller countries it's very likely that whoever gets 7 points might not have that many more votes than somebody who gets 0 points.
@Kernel153 жыл бұрын
@@supermannnblablabla They're not saying that a song with few points will be in the top 10. They're using a hypothetical example to show that even if they have very few votes, the quirk of the system is that if they're in 10th or higher, they get points.

Warning, tears ahead: Fallen angel is a very different song from Tix's usual style The only other song similar to that is one in Norwegian called "angel don't go" that he wrote for a young fan of his, Aurora, who died of cancer. She loved him so much that she had asked for him to be to her funeral, as she knew she would pass soon. And he went to her funeral, even if he had a concert on the same day. So, it's possible that Fallen angel is also about her and him not being able to deal with how important someone like him could be to her

So, Canada could also compete if requested or invited

Yeah a part 2! Go on girls. Do this every year, one of the most fun non European reaction videos to watch 🙂 No disrespect or something, I love it.

I nodded pretty aggressively during everything Danielle said about Croatia and about the Croatia-Netherlands comparison. Pre-show, it was my favorite entry out of the 39, and then came the performance, and I could easily see why, too, unfortunately. Glad Alena explained the message and background of Fallen Angel and TIX. It makes the song so much more special and meaningful. So glad you enjoyed all of these! Cupcakes.

as far as I know, people tend to not really vote for the country that's hosting so that they're not there again next year I could be wrong, but it's happened pretty much every year I've witnessed!

Thank fuck I am not the only person on the internet who saw Senhit's crown and thought it looked like a damn Old Testament angel. I googled around after I saw it in the rehersals and could not find any discussion in this topic, I thought I was going crazy and was the only person who saw it.

“You’re gonna wake up the neighbor..” 😂😂😂 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Malta deserved more points from the public!!! And knowing that she had won the first semifinal and came third in the jury votes it makes even more upset 😠 😢 Also Norway they deserved more than seventy points!!! His song was so emotionally 🥰🥰 Anyway the only thing I would hoped is for Ukraine to come second instead of third place!! Have to admit this year there were so many amazing songs so it was a tough contest but!! Bring on Eurovision 2022!!! 🇮🇹 🇮🇹🇮🇹
