It's a glimer of hope to me as a fallers boy that a timber cutter didn't flat out say "hand cutting is all but dead, you'll have to find another job that'll make you to old at to young an age." Neat man that's got to do some neat things in his career. Mr. Jim I hope you have many more good years of safe cuttin and get to retire when you decide it's time, not ma nature! Thanks for another awesome interview Boone, I enjoy all of them but as you well know the cutters are my favorite!!

Jim has a long history of felling! Saw got his finger though, me too. I got kickback and had stitches on the second finger, left hand. Hard to find a good cutter, no matter what bush your in. Thanks for the video!

I always enjoy seeing people that know the interviewee commenting on these videos, Jim seems like a really nice guy I’m glad I had the opportunity to talk with him and get a little bit of his story on film. Did you guys used to cut timber together?

Awesome interview. Really enjoyed this. Boone why is it hard for a man to break in as a faller? Don't know if you remember, made a comment last year. I work on a ranch in Montana but would like to move to the northwest and go into logging. This is gonna be my last year here. I'll start where i gotta start and do what i gotta do, but I'd like to be like this man. I love slaying trees.

I do remember you Peter. Not sure why its so hard to break in as a faller, but id imagine tough L&I rates would be a determining factor. check out my interview with Pavel mcglave he started out cutting wood then cut timber, very interesting man and would have alotta insight.
