Im from Serbia, and my ancestors completely believed in vampires. 😄 There's many recorded case's of people being dug from graves, their heads being cut and put between their legs, stake put through their hearts...whole package haha. This was very, very real for people in the past. Also, it's hilarious how Anne describes us in eastern europe as mindless savages, even our vampires are like zombies.
@Falsh1252 жыл бұрын
Her writing was good but her facts are all over the place. The story of the true East European nightmares from days of old are known to very few in their unadulterated versions. She was not trying to write a horror novel, just an emo drama disguised as one. I do know about the true origins though, and I am sure you know that there are still parts in Serbia itself that people tend to avoid. She did get that part about the zombie thralls right though, but here's the thing, go back to the lores of the 12th Century and you will notice that the original Upiór, the Aber, and the Alp were never human beings to begin with.

Anne Rice really was a fine writer. But like many authors of popular fiction, the "critics" wouldn't recognize her talent and, instead, her books were lumped into the horror genre. The dialogue, the imagery, the prose, the accessibility... all those elements come together to make her books enjoyable and great. But you won't find Ann Rice on many "best literature" lists. At the very least "Interview With a Vampire" should be included for the caliber of writing and creativity. Well, it's my personal favorite, anyway. 😊

Hes got a sensitive spirit and that keeps him still with his humanity

Louie struggled with human emotions, he was very conflicted about his strength. He learned to let his power / grief loose on Santiago and the theater 🎭 for taking his Love Claudia. He never got over her, had to loose himself in Art 🖼 and trance like beauty of the world

Louis is stronger than he thinks he is, but also, Lestat had already created Gabrielle and Nicolas, the books touch on how strength gets watered down after they make others.

Louis should be pronounced in the French, Loius, not Lewis.

Binging this preset obsession. Great narration. Just every time he says "yes," I hear it as Orson Wells or Brain from Animaniacs 😂

How did Maurius come back from jumping into the fire? He made Armand, right? So why aren’t they friends when Lestat comes along?
@elyzzabeth Жыл бұрын
I hate to be this guy, but it's Magnus. Magnus is the psychopath that ends up siring Lestat. The genealogy of this crowd is expansive. You kind of need a map to keep up with it. 😂
@perdidoatlantic Жыл бұрын
@@elyzzabeth So it’s not maurius that makes Armand and then jumps into the fire when the satanic cult home invades and kidnaps Armand? Because later maurius and lestat ainteracr. It is confusing, you’re right.

Hey guys u can sign up for a free trial of Audible and get 1or 2 free credits and if u choose this particular audiobook u can use 1 credit and get the version read Simon Vance. Omg hes INCREDIBLE! Louis is French and should have a French accent and thats how Vance performs this. The Vampire Lestat is even better and Vance does that one as well. You learn where Lestat grew up and the boy he used to be,how he came to b a vampire and why Lestat is the way he is now

To be honest Claudia's death was a mercy killing. Also random, Louis had Lestat/Marius and Akasha's blood in him.

I do prefer The Louis from The Book compared to the movie and that's not because of Brad Pitt who plays him brilliantly. *More because he feels less whiny in the book*
@joeodonnell921 Жыл бұрын
Probably because he's a very internal character, works better for a book than screen
