Hey Daniel, I always thought people in general (including myself) don't really know the principles of setting up lighting in a house/room. It would be awesome if you could make a video on how to set up lights in a home office for example

Yes, particularly the LED lights you use frequently. 💡

Some of the questions I ask myself: What are the different types of lights and/or lightbulbs? What temperature to use and when and where, what intensity? Lamps vs headlights vs hanging lights? Are LEDs better for certain situations? Can I mix lamps and headlights and how to do it estatically and practically? What is the best way to illuminate a room taking into consideration the orientation and position of the windows and the activities I intend to do.

Daniel! I am HOOKED! I discovered you just yesterday through the "ARCHITECT REDESIGNS - A Crowded Home Office, Gym & Bedroom" video and loved it! I've now watched at least half your redesign videos and you are my favorite person now! I thought to submit an application but my space is not really challenging, just a basic 500sqft studio. Thank you for incorporating your thought process in your videos because it helps me think of how to design my space for maximum functionality and appealing aesthetics! Looking forward to more of your videos!

Love the series and am a big fan of your aesthetic! I always like how practical your designs are. And while this final design looks great, I can't help but notice the absence of a couple of his major components like his laptop and PS4. Practically it would be interesting to see how they would be incorporated into the design as they can often be a large consumer of space.

Also the bike and vacuum. I'd put the vacuum in the small space behind the open door, and I'd hang the bike on the wall, or find a ceiling mount.

My own home office is very similar to this one (almost the same long and narrow dimensions, window in the same location,...) and I have the same issues as James and Marcella with this tiny space. Somehow all the clutter ends up in the open shelves in this room. So I might just use this setup because it looks amazing! Thanks for this boost of inspiration.

Hi Daniel, this might be the best one yet! You could even enhance storage by adding wall shelfs behind the door, with the angle of the door fully opening. Maybe even with hooks on the bottom side, to store backpackd or other miscellaneous items

Hello Daniel. This is just great redesign of the tiny office space. Im currently at the similar spot as my office is now also a storage for gazillion items for kids and our household while it should still be a peaceful place for me to work and create... I was thinking of using metod cabinets for mine and was browsing if anyone had already come up with this before I open up sketch up and Im so glad I find you and your work including the renders. Thank you!

Looks stunning and minimalistic, but as I've seen in other videos as well. This makeover ignores the space needed for keeping large items like wheelchair(?) and clubs that were previously kept in the room. Also, it would be neat to see how the client would use the gaming console over the desk.

Another stunning and clever design 👏👏👏👏👏, I love how you used kitchen cabinets in an office 👍😁. That's think out of the box😉. I am currently redoing my laundry and storage room and I am using a combination of IKEA kitchen cabinets and Leroy Merlin wardrobes. Much more cost effective than having something custom made. Looking forward to seeing your next video. I have been using audible for 5 years and I love it, you always have a "book" with you and you can do other things while someone reads to you 👍👍👍😁

As someone who had a similar weirdly angled door leaving a bit of a useless triangular space behind it, it's a good opportunity for hanging stuff. You could hang a broom, a vacuum cleaner, even some coats. Since this is not a warehouse, coats instead of brooms should be good. It will look OK and use the space effectively. These could even be hanged in the door directly, instead of the wall.

This is very estiticaly pleasing and functional there is one issue it doesn't solve but just moves it to a different place. In the before photo, the client used the room to store all kinds of things, most of which can be now fitted into cupboards, all but one, the bike. Now that this space is sorted now, the client has to figure out where else to put it, and storing bike in a flat is always a messy thing.

That looks killer! One thing I'll say, from an audio standpoint, you want the monitors and your ears to be in an equilateral triangle, with the tweeters at ear-level. Some mini shelves either side of the monitor would've helped this a lot, and also gives an added bonus of more desk space. Great setup though, such a fantastic use of a small space.

I used a 600 mm deep shelf. Being on wall brackets I could move it up or down to suit seating position. After a while I found the palms of my hands and forearms becoming painful. Although the depth allowed me to rest my elbows whilst typing I was perhaps catching the sharp edge of the shelf enough times to cause a problem. Worktop used for kitchens might be a better choice being thicker and having a rounded edge. I changed the shelf for a desk 800 mm deep with a thick top with rounded edges that also has adjustable height - not a standing desk but enough for different seating positions. The extra depth means I can position the 4K 82cm (32") diagonal monitor at a more comfortable distance. The desk is 1200 mm wide and has a shelf at the same level holding a scanner giving a top of 180 cm x 80 cm. A company was moving offices and sold off most of their furniture so it was also very inexpensive. Now looking old and the top dull but I could paint the brown metal legs and lay a large mat over the top to dress it up. It is very heavy and awkward to install into a room and not easy to take apart.
