My first principal ballet performance as Basil in Don Quixote/Don Quichotte/Don Quichot. Danced in the Lithuanian National Opera partnering the lovely ballerina Miki Hamanaka.

People, Mr. Simkin is going to Amer. Ballet theatre! I think he will be in city center this autumn? Lets not compare him to Rudy or misha...this is his time. Lets just buy tickets and embrace this moment. The dance world needs someone like him, only 20years old and look at him acting and dancing with so much control of his character and movement. Kudos, Mr. Simkin.

Have just discovered this clip. Simply amazing! I have seen some of the best in the business including Cope & Acosta. This young man really did it for me. I was nearly moved to tears by the pure brilliance of his performance. I am totally hooked & will be watching out for him whereever he next performs in Europe

Но как танцует Даниил! Как он несёт себя красиво! У него такая красивая выходка! И я имею в виду всё: осанку, манеру нести себя, эмоции, походку, жесты... Даниил просто прекрасен и дорог, мил! This is another level altogether. Like every dancer, his body type is suited for some roles better than others. What is most impressive is the artistry, the phrasing and polish at such a young age, and his instincts. Clearly, his parents provided superb training and he was an inspired pupil. I look forward to seeing him in performance.

Baryshnikov is my favourite male classical dancer of all time. I think he was phenomenal . I think Daniil Simkin is so very like him. I hope I get to see Simkin perform as I never managed to see Baryshnikov in his prime.

He is not only a turner which is so necessary in bravura dancing...but his jumps are high, he is so flexible, and a great partner considering the ballarina is taller on point, but his attack of the role is on focus!

Very impressive. Those lifts around 2:09 are rather difficult, and he seemed to be struggling. I did enjoy the performance very much.

Charles Cissel I agree. The Russian arrogance and masculinity, the amazing allegro consisting of unfathomable tricks which hover in the air, and the perfect multiple pirouettes which are suspended before closing. Simkin is so very much like Baryshnikov, particularly in Don Quixote. Baryshnikov was so magnetic in this ballet. But then, when wasn't he? 😉

I have been following Daniil for few years, he has been growing and maturing.. extremely versatile from classical ballet to modern dance, in style reminds me of Baryshnikov, incredible dancer.

it is true his style reminds a little of iconic Misha Baryshnikov. But not so speed and crisp and masculine.There is only one Baryshnikov.. Having said this, Daniil is reallyyy good!
