A sublime performance from a remarkably gifted pianist. He is able to express emotions so deeply with this wonderful Fazioli piano. It is truly artistic expression. Thanks for sharing.

I’m obsessed with the theme at 4:52 to the end. I love how much space and how much resonance Debussy gives the music at that part. It really sounds like many drops of water falling into a pond causing many ripples. This moment is an example of why I love Debussy’s music so much.

Totally agree. It’s so satisfying and beautiful. Indescribable beauty in his writing and in Daniil’s playing

I love how you can hear notes clearly in his playing, even in the left hand. Most recordings of this piece is so peddle heavy. Would love to hear him play some Ravel in the future, especially "Gaspard de la Nuit" and "Mirors"

Wow! Well played Daniil. Many players make this sound "muddy" and overbearing. He made this sound so clean and pure. Fantastic!

What a jazz! Trifonov is the best pianist of our times. I really enjoy his playing. Maybe Bruce Liu can compete with him.

it ought to be against the law to play so beautiful,there is no room for us poor mortals to dare play, or get inspiration fro this great pianist and play like him.to be or not to be,that is the question.
@bravaLiz8 жыл бұрын
+polskapianist It's against the law for ME, (who could probably be his mother....sigh), to be so in love with this young man. I speak of his talented genius.and as a professional performer/Conductor/Opera Singer/Teacher. Yes. I can obviously play piano.... but he is utterly magnificent.

Easily the best playing of Debussy i've heard by a russian pianist since Richter. Maybe he'll become that good, he doesn't sound that far away now.
Richter's buddy and two-piano partner Anatoly Vedernikov is another one of the greatest Debussy performers. In his diaries Richter goes on about how much he loves his recording of the Etudes, and the preludes and Images are magnificent as well. Probably the most original Debussy I know.

It's called "Reflets dans l'eau", not "d'un". Reflections in the water, not reflections of a water.

You're right. I don't understand why they haven't changed the title, especially since it's easy to change. I guess they don't care.

IN the water, OF a water. The semantics are not the point. Yes, we speak French, but who speaks Debussy? This is 5 + minutes of extraordinary. LOVE Claude. LOVE Daniil T.

Danill is a great pianist, there is nothing to say. But he plays Debussy like Ravel. Debussy is a continuation of Chopin. Ravel is the continuity of Liszt (even if there are common points between Debussy and Ravel).

I think that everyone watching and listening to this video should be aware that when WQXR (the "non-commercial" radio station that has commercials) holds a Fundraising Drive imploring listeners to save the station the contributions that are collected do not go to WQXR but go, rather, into the general operating fund of its parent company, WNYC, which uses the money to support 4 public radio stations in NJ, the $900.000 annual salary (+ benefits) of the president of WNYC, and whatever else WNYC wants to spend it on? I think that this is misleading, deceptive and wrong. I have let my opinion on this matter be known to both stations without receiving any satisfactory response. I am considering contacting the FCC and WQXR's sponsors (which they refer to as their "supporters") to complain about this dishonest practice.
