Thanks god yung aso ko .. ako lng nagpaanak.. 1st baby suhe pa.. grabe ang experience ko dun a😢😢 naawa nko sa dog ko that time.. pero kinakausap ko yung dog ko.. sabi ko kaya mo yan andto lang si mama ..thanks god kse d nya ako pinabayaan..6 healthy puppies yung huling puppy suhe din sobrang hirap ng dog ko.. pero kinaya nya kse anjan ako para alagaan at tulungan sya. Agreed. Our dogs (when I was kid) had many litters (we had miniature poodles and shih tzu’s.) My mother would never even touch the dog at all, and forbid me to touch the puppies for even a week, no matter how much I begged 😂 She would a set up a box for our dog in a quiet place and just let them do their thing. They instinctively know what to do, they don’t need human interference. I remember watching and the mama dog would chew the umbilical cord herself, eat the placenta, and lick the baby for what seemed like forever. Meanwhile the baby would root around for the nipple right away. There was no need to do anything.

Should have given the mother dog calcium during labour , that certainly helps. For this size of a dog, crush 600 mg calccium tablet and dissolve in water or puppy milk , put a bit sugar to give her bit of energy, she will deliver all puppies in an hour. Many vets will tell you to buy their product but the normal Caltrate or something similar will work the same. After birth, should still giving mother calcium will help

They have no idea what they are doing, mom bites and eats the placenta cleanes the babies etc. Way to much handling, you risk the mom rejecting her babies doing that. Animals have been having babies in the wild for years, moms know what their doing!!!!

Pero mas advisable na maki interfere sa dogs during delivery, if dinakaya ilabas because there's a possibility na lalalabas yung puppy na hindi na humihinga it's also better for the momma dog para hindi sila mahirapan base in experience po ito first litter ng shihtzu hinayaan lang namin two puppies po ang lumabas ng hindi na humihinga dahil hindi po namin ito ginagalaw.

Mom looks stressed, too many people around and getting involved, you should have trusted that mom would know what to do. You should have intervened as little as possible and let the mom licked her young to clean them off and to pass off her germ and bacteria fighting saliva. Puppies should have been with mom instead of being separated. Also you should have let the mom eat the placenta and cut off the umbilical chord herself. Not sure about the Vet just pulling the puppy out of the mom without any hesitation and it looks like the placenta was left inside in the process, so awful. My small dog just gave birth to 3 puppies a couple of days ago, all I did was help with breaking through the amniotic sac so that the newborn don't suffocate and got them their first breath then I placed the newborn next to mom immediately. She then proceeded to lick off the pup's mucous and eat the placenta and cut the umbilical chord in the process. The pup immediately started getting milk from mom while she was waiting on delivering her 2nd puppy and 3rd puppy... all pups came out 1 hour apart. Leaving this comment so hopefully others can learn, this was our first time and yes it can be stressful especially with no first hand experience but remember only intervene as little as possible, give the mom space and nature will do its thing.

I think the labor should be a natural process, unless CS is needed. No need interferences from people, assist lang I think ang kelangan. Oxytocin ba yung iniinject?. Natural alternative is to massage the nipple OF the dog, marerelease na ang dog ng oxytocin para magcontract ang uterus.
