@@Yppy26 1. Work-Life Balance: I have observed that the concept of work-life balance here often leans more towards life-life balance. While I believe work-life balance should involve giving equal attention to both work and personal life, I have noticed that sometimes work responsibilities and accountability can be overlooked. Coming from a culture where work tends to take precedence, I find it challenging to adapt to this different approach. 2. Flat Hierarchies: In my previous experience, managers are typically expected to have extensive knowledge in their field and actively manage their teams. Here, the roles of managers and colleagues seem more intertwined, which can sometimes blur the lines of accountability and responsibility. While I appreciate the team-oriented approach, I find it different from what I am used to, where individual accountability is more emphasized. 3. Consensus-Driven Decision Making: Working in Health and Safety, I find it crucial to ensure that safety rules are followed diligently. The consensus-driven approach, while fostering collaboration, can sometimes make it challenging to enforce basic safety protocols promptly. I believe a balance between consensus and decisive action is important, especially in safety-critical areas. 4. Trust and Autonomy: In the field of Safety, adherence to checklists and procedures is often essential, especially in highly regulated industries. While trust and autonomy are valuable, I find it challenging to ensure safety without the traditional methods of managing and measuring compliance. Adapting to a trust-based approach in this context has been a learning experience for me.
