I agree with you. A campfire is an important aspect of what bushcraft for me is all about. But as you mentioned, there are times where you'd rather want a little stove. Looks like a nice compact set you've got there. Now I should really go to bed, it's getting late. We'll see each other on Saturday. Cheers bro.

Hi Rasmus. How are you doing buddy. Great piece of kit there mate. I agree with you about the campfire it is much more the woodsmans way but sometimes just a small set up like yours is perfect. Thanks for taking the time to do this video. All the best. Adrian.

Hi, there are lots of places where open fires are prohibited for what ever reasons, that's where those little stoves really come in handy. I have a stainless steel Tatonka meths burner great little burner when used in conjunction with my folding firebox.

Good stuff Rasmus! I do agree with you about having a camp fire is more preferrable, and in my opinion is easier to cook on, but these stove/burner configurations definitely have their place. Have a great weekend!

Those are great pots. They come in 3 different sizes. sm. med. & large which you show in your video. They are tough and hold up well in all camping conditions. Plus you can store extra gear inside. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy & be safe !

Always good to have a campfire for cooking and warmth when required, it also gives a feeling of wellbeing and comfort in the evening and at night. enjoyed your chat, cheers. Les

Nice kit! I have a few alcohol burner's. They are great for a warm cup of coffee while hiking or a quick lunch if you are unable to build a fire.I love a good camp fire but I also like to hike and camp above tree line where combustibles don't grow. So a good burner is a great asset when out and about. Thanks for the vid!

In the uk camp fires are pretty much illegal ,so stoves are the only way to go :/

In the deserts of the Western US, fires are banned during these increasing drought seasons. Have to use stoves most of the year, it seems.

I will second that! Tatonka stainless steel burners are way cool and work amazingly well! Cheers!

I agree with your stove philosophy, fire is more fun, but stoves and fuel are great for backups.

True what you say about the campfire. But here it's almost everywhere prohibited to make a fire. I've also got the trangia meth burner. The alcohol here is in fact cleaning alcohol which is blue and leaves stains. After hours of search on internet I was able to buy burning alcohol: 20 euro for 5 L. That's really expensive! I think about buying the triangle because it takes no place. But untill now I have always put the burner inside my woodstove with succes.

And the MSR pot: I've got the same of 600 ml, just enough for a small meal and the woodgasstove also fits inside. Only my MSR is made by Zebra just like the billy can. I prefer the billy can for when I stay longer in the woods than a day hike because it enables me to filter and cook 1,5 L water. My final comment: KZbin should allow to write more in one comment...

Good video, young man! You seem pretty relaxed behind the camera and you explain things well. Yeah, those MSR stowaway pots are great, aren't they? I've got the 775 ml and the 1.6 L. The smaller nests inside the larger. There are also a couple YT videos which show how to make a bail out of a metal coat hanger for hanging your pot over a fire.

Yes, quality stuff lasts long. I think I'll still use it about 12 years from now. It's really worth the (higher) price!

My pot is about 12 years old. Could be possible that MSR had them made by Zebra first and later chanched to Seagull. You'll see my billy can soon ;-)

Totally agree about campfires, however there are a growing number of places in the US where campfires are prohibited. This only leaves the option of using a stove in many places........

Havde dem altså ikke kun på en finger Jeppe, men på 3 ;-) Jo, det jeg mener med det jeg sagde er at Seagull er en fabrik der laver selve gryden, så sælger MSR den som en del af deres produkter.
