Now that I'm older and can understand how really wicked these people in the industry are, I'm so thankful that I didn't seriously pursue the music career, that I thought I wanted back then. Back in the day, I used to rap. I know Dr. Dre and used to hang out in the neighborhood and studio with him. He was going to produce my project. My goal back then, was to be the first female to come out on the West Coast, and I only wanted to work with Dre, because I knew what he could do. Looking back on it now, I got pissed about something that I could've let go, and whenever we were around each other after that, he'd ask if I was ready to work? I would nonchalantly say, I'll let you know. 😒 When I tell that story, I always say, I guess I showed him, huh?? 🤦🏾‍♀️🤣🤣😭 Eventually, I heard a West Coast female rapper's song on the radio and that ended my rap dreams! 😂 After that, I wanted to be a songwriter and couldn't ever believe that I wanted to rap! I worked with a really good producer and we made a good team, until I started to see how much he idolized Puffy and Suge and their wicked ways! I would write songs that he really liked, and he would always be like, this is a hit! I'm going to add a word or two, so I can get some writing credit on it. 🙄 I used to tell him, that unless I wanted to add anything, the song is complete. I would secretly copyright my lyrics and let him think that he was in control, until I was fed up. When he worked with others that wrote their songs, he would always tell me that he owned the masters, so it's his song. I had to cut him off, to show him I wasn't the fool that he thought I was! I realized that I would have never lasted in that industry and didn't belong, because I'm quick to walk away from anyone that thinks they're going to play me, beat me or cheat me! But Reds project SAFE MUSIC INITIATIVE is looking like a very good thing moving forward so I hope she really has success with that. ...BUT if a company signs onto the SAFE MUSIC INITIATIVE they probably most likely gonna want testing , etc etc.......most Artist probably can't even go on stage without SOMETHING in their system....so that may be a fear factor for Artist
