Thank you Willie Moore for this episode. Thank you Rickey Smiley for your vulnerability and your transparency. I lost my 3rd child due to ectopic pregnancy. The part you shared about it not going away and grief being a process. Sometimes I bury it too much for the grief of losing him and not birthing anymore children. As you began to share your grief the Lord showed me yet still dealing with mine. As heavy as each tear feels, I am grateful for every time that the Lord shines light on this much needed area of healing. I can't thank you enough for your openness.

I lost the love of my life 9 months ago, the father of my oldest son, has forever changed me I have watched my son break while breaking myself. I watched his mother break and to see the sadness and hurt in her eyes has hurt my heart. His children are forever changed his grandchildren are forever changed our family and lives are forever changed. Rickey thank you for sharing your pain your love and your time with the world. Addiction is ugly and more damaging to people left behind who have to deal with the aftermath of it all. I’m praying for you I love you and you are not alone. May God continue to shine on you and through you. 🙏❤️

Ricky Smiley is the only celebrity I have met in person. I grew up in the DMV listening to his morning show on the way to school. My family is also from Montgomery, Alabama 🫶🏾 I recognized him at the airport. I did not want to bother him but I had to ask for a pic to show my mama. He took a picture with my daughters. He was so kind and made us laugh 🥲 a few months later I lost my oldest in a car accident, so when I heard about the loss of his son I prayed for him deeply b/c only grieving parents understand the pain 💔When he spoke on the story of Joab ‼️but I’ve learned to have the same mindset “If I can get through that , I can get through anything” everything else seems so trivial. Despite it all... God has been faithful 🙏🏾

I lost my first born son 9 years ago. You will never be the same and it does change you permanently. I have PTSD and I tried to go back to work right after and not go to grief counseling. It came back to haunt me shortly after to the point where I was blacking out at work. I have triggers, crying spells. You just learn to live with the pain.

@rickeysmiley-12 thank you too. I have lost 3 important people in my life. I rarely talk out loud about it because in loss, I realize most people will never care about my loss like I will. Leadership at work may say, take all the time you need, but after that bereavement period (which I never take, nor do I tell them when I lose a family member), the expectation is to return to work and function. So, in knowing that my grief will be forever since 3 puzzle pieces of my heart are missing, I will have my moments privately when I need to, all while knowing that their is a God, because he keeps my mind. And, I know if he can keep my mind, he can keep yours too. War Eagle!!🤣

It's ours... BUT GOD! I've never felt God's arms wrapped around me so tight as I did during that time. But I continue to live on because the world doesn't get to write my baby's last page, I DO.. I have no idea how it feels because of the loss of a child. My Mom lost two children my brother and sister. Both of them passed away at a young age. My brother at 38 and my sister at 45. I lost my best friend of 35 years and my cousin who was my partner in life. But my friend , that is mentioned first, hurt my heart. He was so kind, so loving to all. He was talking to me and I was trying to listen . Other chattering fear made me what needed to be heard by me for him. Just listening to this conversation taught me a lot about men , listening, and priorities. Thank you, Mr. Smiley Prayers and thoughts for I am filled up too. I have never been this sad, other than my mom and dad. "But we will understand it better, by and by!" I hope to meet you one day.
