@@shinji1264 lol. I know exactly what Tim's work flow is, it's no secret. My point is he does a "master class" and doesn't even bless us by pulling up something from Aaliyah, Missy, Ginuwine, Nelly Futardo, Justin etc. He goes through a super generic beat with his latest team. And when he does briefly talk about some old tracks he doesn't say anything new. If you're going to do a masterclass at least go through at least one masterpiece. Hopefully they get him on here. Danja has let Mix with the Masters go through at least two huge hits My Love, and Bad Girls. Two absolute monstrous tracks.

honestly, that album and especially that song were a revelation to me and my friends back then. we were growing out of our punk youth, being rnb and hip hop at heart because of our older siblings - the album came out, justin (and his team) made music from a white guy sexy, it was all crazy sounds, bringing back the rave vibes from our 90s childhood, integrated into some deeply moving rnb-flows, hot af beats, it was all over our cd players in our rooms or cars for months, it even got played in the punk club we visited on saturdays, we started to dress in the same style as justin did and drove hours to finally see his show. and me and my then-boyfriend made out for the first time in bed when this song was played. honestly? fuckin intense times, i miss and appreciate them deeply. and until today i wouldnt know that danja produced this, who also made my favorite britney album. thanks for these memories, man

well that was eye opening. I thought for whatever reason, that artist used 1 maybe 2 samples on a given track. (technically all of it is a sample but you know what I mean) And this multi platinum hit here has bare minimum 7. For me, who actually just started a channel 3 weeks ago to put my work/beats on is quite profound. I think the most samples I've used on a track is 3. 1 of which didn't really have much to do w/ the actual track it was just atmospheric ie thunderstorm or lions roaring. Most of my work has been actually writing the drums (which personally is the hardest for me) writing the bass lines or synth lines as well as any keys or melodies. This just made me feel a lot better about not having to go that far & it doesn't "have" to be that way. And that producing music is primarily about finding compatible sounds regardless of how they came about & putting them together in a very specific way to create a particular mood, vibe or energy. I feel like I've been handicapping myself after watching this. Problem=solved. This track is also the perfect example of how it's almost impossible to hear any more than say 5 layers in a track that has bare minimum 10. But it's the ones you don't realize you're hearing that truly makes the track POP & come alive. That's the biggest thing I need to work on. The foundations I lay are pretty awesome. I just need that little something to truly make them pop.
