Good look on actually posting this. It always means more to me when a track that didn't hit much at first ends up growing on me. I bet a lot of people don't put it out there when songs do this for them- so it's good to see that it's probably more common than we admit. My grower track was Dumbbell. I had my expectations maxed out after hearing Eugene. So when Larry dropped- I was a bit let down initially. But the more I replayed it, the better it got for me. At the end of the day- Glorb is still a genius. 👌

About the trypophobia thing, the whole idea about holes making you uncomfortable is that there are bugs who probably dug into them and colonized the object you're looking at (think termites in wood or bugs in fruit). So if you keep zooming in more and more, it's digging (pun unintended) into the whole idea that there are potentially an infinite number of living dangerous things in the space. I get that discomfort too but it's kinda a fire art style too imo.

If you've fallen out of love with nerdcore/anime rap for the reasons you gave, you gotta listen to my man FABVL - he's IMO the top artist in the genre by quite a bit. Hes a musician first and foremost, his vocals are beautiful, his lyrics are tight, and he sprinkles in fun references. His music doesn't even sound like its nerdcore most of the time, he just takes a character he likes and then makes a banger about them.
