With the help of Paradox, I made a 2500$ HOI4 Tournament that will decide the best HOI4 team.
They will battle over multiple games and play both Axis and Allies.
From Germany to USA to Japan and all the nations played in the usual HOI4 Multiplayer games will all have players on them and will battle it out for 2500$ in this tournament.

the conclusion of the players of the winning team is that allies are way better as long you survive the early game ,some rules helped the axis like low world tension being allowed , u have to punish the allies hard in the early game or u just die as axis

Mod is allied favored, but the rules were extremely axis favored basically allowing the axis free reign for two years while allies counterplay is very restricted, however the tournament makes it seem a lot more axis favoured because most allies players were dogshit, even in the finals I must say my allies weren’t the best and red baron won deservedly, also the allies usually require more players than axis in this mod to utilise their full potential, which obv couldn’t happen

TFB is a low IC mod , axis beginns with more IC , early IC is stronger , allies outscale them in IC but only if they dont collabs which in most games they did

They funniest part was watching Lennard, Nayf and others mocking vanilla players reliance on the last stand (which is absent in this mod), only to be absolutely clapped by said vanilla players. Literally "talk shit - get hit" situation xD

It's very clear they needed better rules / balancing for the tournament when Axis stomps every time. Like doing Best of three with teams swapping, having more player slots for allies to balance, or by doing some points-based scoring so Allies at least have a chance to make their game worth it even if they fail.

I think a best of 2 is actually better, if a team goes 2:0 it wins, if both teams get a win, than you can make a tiebreaker like faster win or some kind of point based system.

I meant tie breaker as in stats are used, that both teams achieved in their games or in their respective winning game. Since the game isnt balanced, both teams playing both sides once would be better, than a bo3, where one team can play the stronger side twice.

That last game was insane with the Axis winning then almost losing while the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere did real well and the Comintern put up a good but untimely unless fight.

As a professional coper it’s hard for me to admit that we (team discardian) deserved to lose the final cause red baron as a whole was just better, because as the Soviets we were doing well but we faced most of the axis forces for basically 80% of the time because allies were crippled early due tu some interesting rules. In retrospect however I had fun with the tournament and claim a happy second place. (Also when is my merch arriving Paradox?)

it takes way too long he had a limit of like two or three weeks to host all the games and u cant host more than like 3 games per week which means that if u have 8 teams and on average 2.5 games per match it can take two months
