I couldn't agree more! A blind, deaf and one armed person would've done an infinitely better job of properly capturing the subject.

Dann may have used up all of the chorus along with Lukather, Landau, Thompson, Rowan and many others but...man alive, they knew how to use it and I ...miss those days! Long live the Tri-stereo chorus and the Eventide H-3000!

As a young 11 year old boy, my new step father was a guitar player and a HiFi stereo nut. I too was turned on to Al DiMeola in about 1976 but just didn't "get it" yet. I discovered Dann in about 1990 through Giant records and had heard a TON of White Heart but didn't know then he was involved with them, then. Dann is in my top 5 of influences to this day and I have been player 30 years plus. Love me some Dann. Dann is just a wicked talent...Wicked

Badass guitarist!! Loved him since his session work in the pop & r&b genres starting in the 80's!!

My TINY brain understood VERY LITTLE of what was just said here,but I DO KNOW that Dann Huff is GREAT!(and underrated)!From the moment I first heard Whiteheart's(Self titled album),I wanted to play electric guitar.No other guitarist EVER made me feel THAT way(previously)!First,Air guitar!,and then,hands on.I play nothing LIKE DH(except maybe his pedal tones and vibrato),but DH is a living legend!

Awesome! One of the three most prolific and most-heard sessions guitarists of the 1980's, along with Steve Lukather and Michael Landau. :-D

Michael Thompson too.....he rarely gets mentioned but he may top them all as to top ten played on hits
@EphemeralProductions7 жыл бұрын
Never heard of him and I've looked at the credits for a LOT of well-known 1980's albums and songs. Only have ever seen "The Big Five": Huff, Lukather, Landau, Dean Parks and Bruce Gaitsch. Those are the main ones I've seen playing on the 1980's and early 90's stuff.

I drove Larry Carlton twice to the Grammy’s while he was out here in Los Angeles. Wasn’t at all familiar with his guitar playing, but I grew up listening to Giant, and bought both of their first 2 albums when they came out. So many good songs by Giant. Probably “Innocent Days” is my all-time favorite and “Lost in Paradise” is their most underrated songs.

Impossible to say if one guitrist is the best. So many styles so many players. He is definately amazing on guitar/song writing and vocals.
