KZbin also sets limits for how many people you can be subscribed to based off of the number of subscribers and videos you have if I remember correctly it might just be subscribers you have no to very few subscribers it lets you subscribe to less channels than a major KZbinr like Danno or jacksepticeye for example. One thing that I have noticed personally has kept me subscribed to some of the smaller KZbinrs that I subscribe to is legitimately turning on the notification Bell. But KZbin has multiple times even within recent years unsubscribed me from creators that I subscribe to especially smaller creators

Tbh, I could entirely see it being a UI issue combined with users unknowingly fat-fingering the unsubscribe button while trying to scroll or tap other things on mobile. I've had plenty of experiences making tons of typos in comments, clicking on videos I didn't mean to, etc. I doubt it accounts for ALL the people who claim this, but considering how easy it is to mistap on phone screens without even noticing, I would not be shocked in the slightest if there were thousands of people a month doing it given the millions on the platform at any given moment.

KZbin will remove subscriptions that it thinks are fraudulent, such as botted subs. My guess is that they have some system to do this automatically, and innocent subscriptions can get removed when this system fails and provides a false positive.

KZbin themselves probably haven't unsubscribed anyone, and the issue is likely just internet errors. KZbin constantly has to handle requests, and sometimes something will go wrong.
