What an excellent rendition! Emer performs this beautiful traditional with an intensity and longing that can stem only from an Irish heart. If Danny doesn’t respond to the heartrending pleas of this gorgeous lady he can as well jump in the lake!

I have heard (and reheard) so many "Danny Boy's" lately... but this [new to me] version is one of the best I have heard. And the video' is exceptionally well done to match it. Helps me to never forget. Except SHE is the one who died. Wish it were me.

A true singer. Most cannot reach the high note in 'Tis I'll be there', and jump to an octave lower. Ms Barry can, and the effect is wonderful.

@@stangetty8166 LOL ..... Alas Stan.... all these flowery phrases have been mine own. Things like word play, descriptive metaphor , and emotive exactness come naturally to me. As for Emer herself.... you are right Stan- she is always 'on" . it's just that I have other Irish goddesses to attend to as well. As I often like to say "It takes an Irish lass to rival an Irish lass" .
