Not the same yet. Let’s wait a few years. You can’t judge 1 year into briere’s era. But at the moment not the same. Rebuild doesn’t necessarily mean just the players or “tear it down and tank”

There are some fanbois, they say yay to anything. But most rank and file I talk to are not happy. But we keep quiet until Games 1, 2 or 3. It is possible too much hype has been placed on certain 'new' guys. Hope it pans out...but its not guaranteed

Couturier was just a nickname fan favorite. His current contract will hurt the Flyers organization more than anything his Flyers career ever did to help.

This goes deeper than Hextall, Fletcher or Briere. Flyers ownership will NOT allow a real rebuild. They fear a scenario where we really stink for a few years and season ticket holders bolt. They would rather re-tool (that is what Briere did, that Fletcher did and that is what Hextall did) to varying degrees. If they can start making the playoffs every year with a good team and take their chances every year in the playoffs (like 2010) they feel the fanbase will come along for the ride. Look how many fans got suckered in last year because they almost made the playoffs. By February, most fans said, “Screw the rebuild, don’t be sellers and make the playoffs!” You can’t have it both ways as you have to pick one road and stick with it. That’s why we have been mediocre for a decade, the Flyers always try to re-tool. Whether its a rebuilding retool or aggressive retool

So Brent Flahr has been 'in charge' of drafting and scouting since 2018. Before 2018 Flahr was dedicated to someone, somewhere. I think his name was Chuck..... and we have him in charge picking draft picks again in 2025? Yeahhhhh.....about that

Bierre has gotten MM here so hes ahead of Hextall but I dont understand why Bierre isnt makin some trades. They both do keep resigning there own players which is ridiculous. If these players are so good then why doesnt other teams want them?

I think Briere will take more chances than Hextall long term. Some of these bad contracts will expire after next season and give them more flexibility to sign a couple of big free agents. Plus three draft picks potentially in a deep draft pool in 2025 gives them the ability to draft some serious talent or use it towards bringing an impact player here. Briere has good connections in the league which will aid him long term. He will however have a tough decision on Couturier if he doesnt produce this season. But they just have to be a little more patient and get rid of bad contracts first.

@@forzanerazzurri2339they literally have 3 first round picks in next years draft. With the potential for more assuming they’ll be trading at least one of their “stars.” Considering this is supposedly a deep draft I’d say that’s a pretty good start to a “rebuild.” I don’t see briere handing out muli year contracts to players like dale weise.
