There's so many amazing drummers out there ...seeing all their different dynamics and trying to play the stuff. Danny has such a patience in building those super hard polyrythms, and creating such hard fills. The master of polyrythms and probably the fastest heavy hitter. Definitely one of the greatest of all time in my opinion... a true legend.

Danny, by far, is my favorite drummer. I never ever ever get bored listening to him play. His playing style is so abstract and so fuckin' clever. Well deserved Danny, in my opinion you are the greatest drummer of all time! Tool is my favorite band, seen you guys 7 times and each show was magical, illuminating, and as a musician and drummer myself a religious/psychedelic like experience. Ego death for me hearing you for the first time 20 years ago, but made me strive to be better and find my own voice and style drumming. Your polyrythems, choice in time signatures, fills, adaptation of mandala and other world percussion sounds adds a unique and beautiful vibe to just scratch the surface...so thank you Danny as well as Adam, Maynard, Justin for giving me and my band the soundtrack to our great love of music. Showing us the way to atempt to carry the torch of intellectual, higher vibration and metaphysical art to name a few. You inspire me and so many more to look deeper into our consciousness and find that spark we all have buried beneath the daily bullshit we can get lost in. You guys (tool) are true masterclass gods of each of your instruments and knowing how to combine it all into a master peice, of enlightenment, music in its truest intent and purpose, and wizards of those complex but deep human experiences weaved through the tapestry of your body of work artisticly... it has literally saved my life 20 years ago and changed my perspective to see our lives through a different lens. I managed a ski shop in Montana for many years and I'll never forget the first day I heard TOOL. A dear friend named Craig popped a TOOL cd in and the early 90's and I I was immediately captivated by you and the Band. I've also been to the Modern Drummer Festival in Montclair many times.
