I too love Rascal Flatts. However, Danny Gokey sings this song with SO much emotion and has powerful vocals. Some of the best vocals I’ve heard in years! Truly listening to this song brings floods of emotions. When an artist can “connect “ with a person via his vocals through a song...that’s something that cannot be bought, forced..sold. It is magical and a true gift..from God!

My first love and I broke up few months after I moved acrossed the world, the distant relationship didn't work when you are 16; though he was my 1st love, and think back about it no other love was the same with the first love; noone ever loved me quite the same; we broke up yet i never stopped caring about him, thinking maybe we might rekindle after I graduate from college; few months after that he passed away in an accident along with several family member, he was trying to save one of them. this song me everything; shattered up inside thinking of what could have been. This is SO much better than Rascal Flatts, it's not even funny. Gary records at night when his voice is loose and free. In a concert, it becomes obvious that he can't hit those high notes like he did in the recording session and he strains to the point of hurting.
