@@dashoopss I can… 1. Myers was only a man. He killed 5 people on Halloween 1978 and the town largely forgot him, with Laurie seen as “crazy lady in the woods” convinced he will return….then in Kills this is thrown out the window where he is now the psychotic obsession of EVERY towns person, driving them into carnal bloodlust for Myers’ head on a pike. 2. The insertion of weird extraneous/peripheral characters for nostalgia purposes. Why would the nurse who got her car stolen and who never lived in Haddonfield, and who also had a good 30 year age difference on Tommy and Lindsay now intimately know and socialize with them and move to the town where the guy who stole her car and murdered some teenagers 40 years ago, lived? 3. Why wouldn’t Tommy KNOW that the 5’5 Danny Devito/Penguin lookalike not be Myers if he was so obsessed with him for 40 years as were the other townspeople? I mean, he never saw his photo? A mug shot?? Um ok… usually you know what your perpetrator looks like especially that he’s been in lockup and much written/spoken of 4. The way Laurie sat in a hospital bed with the weird ass dialogue of her and others. “If we don’t get him now, we will tomorrow….or next Halloween”…..huh? 5. He’s “always worn a mask!”….as Tommy said….again stupid dialogue that relies on the ignorance of the audience. 6. He is supposed to be “just a man “ yet he savagely takes down an entire fire brigade, countless townspeople and survives multiple gunshot wounds. Yet he can’t break the arm of a highschool girl who is stopping him from stabbing her. I can go on and on and on. Suffice it to say this movie was for the low IQ and the brainwashed. Not my Halloween.

Better than the ending they originally filmed,test audiences hated it so much they had to redo a new ending,it originally ended with them not even in the House,basically a knife fight outside her house and he ends up in the woods possibly “dying”

this movie was 5 times better than i ever thought when i heard it was good. it wasn't good, it was GREAT. i'm really impressed with danny mcbride here. i've enjoyed most of his work but this was really above and beyond.

Carpenter has said that he’s grown to dislike the plot point of Michael being related to Laurie. It was more interesting when they weren’t related. It’s also easier to explain that the police caught him shortly after in the original. If they kept Halloween II canon, they’d have to apply make up in every movie on him so it looks like he was burned like they applied make up on him in 4,5 and 6. They’d also have to explain how Michael’s no longer blinded from being shot in both eyes. Maybe they also wanted to give Loomis a peaceful ending where he dies of old age and not have him burn to death or explode? For that part I’m just speculating.

Exept Halloween II and Halloween III, all the sequels are terrible. Maybe H20 is good but Michael was not even scary in that one. This 2018 remake is my second favourite Halloween movie of all time. They respect the original concept of Michael Myers.

@sternenkind no, the terrible films like Halloween 4 and 5 etc made it that way, there’s a reason they don’t count anymore, and although the new Halloween movie was terrible, even David Gordon green has said the reason for these remakes is to change things like Michael being supernatural, he wants him to be still ofc a lot more resilient when injured than other people would be but he himself has said Michael isnt supernatural in his films and John carpenter never intended for Michael to be either, the first Halloween was a normal serial killer with that resilience too and drive to kill, even Halloween 2 was made for money, John carpenter didn’t want to make it So Michael should be thought of as Halloween 1 Michael

Halloween Kills was a travesty though. Any of the sequels including 3,5,6 roundly defeat that film on all levels: acting; believability; dialogue; level of terror; and atmosphere. These smart guys set out to push a narrative that the Halloween sequels were not true to the original spirit of Myers while employing all of the characteristics that made Myers a household name, derived solely from the sequels. Such a huge, strange contradiction. And a big scam on the audience.
