Im not sure he really did - he was, like most players, treated like shit by multiple clubs and left in the lurch. Have you been made redundant or worked freelance before? So it was business, but also personal for him sfter the way he was treated..Anyway he took the payoff over 3 years which is standard in any job. This is the only story i think ive heard of a player who played in these times getting one over against clubs who treated and still treat playees like shit. Shouldnt we all be laughing with him, if we look at the bigger picture?! As its really a story of the small man getting one over the ‘man’ if you read between the lines...

Club didn’t have to agree to pay him that. If chef at training ground asks for 50k a year it’ll be a yes or no, probably a no. Easier to find another chef to work for 30k a year than an International right back. End of the day it’s clubs fault for paying players so much.

He didn’t cover himself in glory, talking about forcing a dying club to cover 25% of his wages, laughing at the prospect of him finishing them off and at one point stating he loved the club. I do get the whole short career and the club wouldn’t give a shit about you arguments but this isn’t some lad just nudging 6 figures and an owner trying to penny pinch to get himself a new motor. Mendieta went on loan to Barcelona the season after signing for Lazio, this was when they were way behind the pace in the league. Then he was on loan at Boro the season afterward - *then* he signed on a free transfer. Boro were paying high wages at the time and as most of you will recall, it was a regular thing to get a foreign star in that seemed to be above their level.

Listened to part one and quickly felt rather uneasy at the way he talks about people.Hoping it might improve and hear something interesting about our club during some very turbulent times it seems Mills couldn't wait to cram in as many cheap shots as possible, well done it worked, miss your Mum though she was a class act on the piano.

Surprised that he rated Pards over Curbs as best manager. Glad that Curbs/Murray held out for 4.1 mil as well. We bounced straight back up after the season we went down and won the championship. We only lost Mills and brought in a few decent signings with his transfer fee.
