Sounds like he went hard on the training then got burnt out. I got my blue belt after 18 months of training, so its not too crazy to get purple in 3 years. Like 4-5 times a week of training, and really improving your technique can get you a purple belt after 3 years.

King Zingo there is a need, I personally don’t like when people call any form of grappling wrestling. That’s like calling Muay Thai boxing. Jiu jitsu and wrestling are completely different. In wrestling you can’t lay on your back, and you can’t submit.
