I miss the dsm scene. Kinda want to return to it given what i know these days. The rs handles better and more predictable than any ff ef, eg and dc integra i've driven no matter how built. All i had was half'd bump stops, goldline springs and kyb gr2 struts and it was easier to control at the limit, even sliding out than a honda on coilovers with full arms and an alignment. I've had lots of cars since the eclipse. Rx7's, 240s, lexus..... Still have a soft spot for the 2g dsm. Timeless. Childhood favorite. Nice video and warm fuzzy feels.

That said, the juice back in the day was going with driveshaft shop axles and using an srt4 bottom end with a caravan block. The drivers side mount had to be modified but nothing crazy. To this day i think PPG is the only company who makes a solid gearset.....

I am now a proud owner of a 1998 Mitsubishi eclipse rs. I test drove it but I wasn’t sure about the shifting, but I drove it again, and I loved it so much. The car gets dropped off Monday night, but I’m not familiar with this platform. I’m a mechanic myself but I’m very open to all the things the DSM has to offer. I saw this video and I thought, “wow. I want it to look like this” so they drove so well, I’m glad my came as stock so I can do wonders with the motor or swap. Any advice would be great!

Your AFRS will be out of wack unless you go with a standalone ecu and tune the car. Most people that boost the 420a don’t go the extra step and leave them at 8psi with a bigger fuel pump and hope for the best

Amazing car! Im looking at grabbing a 99 Eclipse Rs. Unfortunately, I don't live in my home state anymore and don't really know many people in my current state. That being said, I don't plan on turboing anytime soon or even adding any power. What are some good sites I could grab some body kits or peices? Also, what would you recommend I do to make sure everything runs smoothly and freshen the car up (like spark plugs and stuff)? The car has just under 90k miles

Just a side note for non-DSM owners out there who own a 2023 whatever you drive. You can't sit on todays car because they are not built like the DSM. Also. The DSM idles like its cammed stock. So dont get jealous when you see us at the light and we take off so fast that we end up next to the auotmatic that just shifting into 2nd from the light! Yes, will give you 1 car length and we'll be next to you! Not a challenge, just a fact!
