If this was during Muppets most wanted then it was Steve Whitmire who no longer performs Kermit. He was criticised and sacked because his Kermit was apparently too jaded. Well if this doesn't contradict that theory I don't know what would. It was the most Jim Henson thing to do

He wasn't sacked due to his Kermit being too jaded. The truth is, in scripts where Kermit was being written as jaded or mean etc Steve Whitmire kept complaining about it. He pushed back when the writers wrote bad Kermit stuff. Disney only wants to work with yes-men and they dumped Steve for trying to be true to the character. Now they have Matt Vogel doing Kermit; Matt does exactly what Disney tells him to no matter how unKermit the instructions are. (Matt is a gifted puppeteer but he has trouble doing the Kermit voice sometimes, sigh)

He was fired for being a dick behind the scenes, and I don't think he would have in front of one of the celebrity guests because the publicity of "Kermit is dick to celebrity" would be a good look.

He was born in LA in a 1944 where California was already a part of the United States. California became part of the US in 1847 and Trejo was born in 1944, so technically he's American by birth. The US uses Jus Soli (Rule of the Land) to determine nationality, as opposed to other countries that use Jus sanguinis (Rule of the blood).

No it's Steve Whitmire at that time they are filming in London from muppets most wanted Danny is at the Gulag they are about to perform a play but Danny aren't there for the next half with Kermit directing them and other scene at that Gulag too till the end of the movie his back. but I'm sure all the muppet cast were there to comfort him.
