Even tho I was cheering and ecstatic for Stenhouse to win during the last restart, I was so devastated about Kyle Busch’s loss.

First time I heard of Stenhouse was when he plowed into Joe Nemechek at Nashville in 09 and Joe's 87 flipped over and he came back around on all four wheels

That's my driver right there! I was so bummed when Jimmie Johnson retired but then I started watching Ricky Stenhouse Jr. videos and he just became an instant favorite.
@davidpeters2625 Жыл бұрын
You know, I thought that Stenhouse, when with RFR, in the Xfinity Series, and won back-to-back Nationwide Championships, could be a bona-fide superstars. But because of Jack Roush refusing to invest into modern technology, his career in the Cup Series kinda stalled, until 2017..... I KNEW it would eventually pay off once he was let go, but, it FINALLY paid off with this year's Daytona 500, which honestly warmed my heart.... And I would not be surprised if Tony Stewart hired him to replace Harvick, after all, it was Tony himself that discovered Ricky racing sprint cars.

To me, Ricky, Bubba, and Blaney were all overdue for a Daytona 500 win, so to see Ricky finally get it was a great thing to witness.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will forever be a Daytona 500 champion, regardless of how his career turns out.

I was salty when Kyle Busch didn't win then, but GGs to Stenhouse. He's no longer Spinhouse with a Daytona 500 under his belt, he's more like the modern Sterling Marlin imo.

Not trying to make anyone cry. I think that relationship/moment at Bristol was very important in Ricky’s story.

I always watch him closely at superspeedway races. He's so good managing the draft and traffic but always gets involved in the big one and most of the time it's not his fault despite the crap he gets. So glad he finally got a 500 after getting wrecked fighting for the lead last year.

I have a Rise & Fall for the fictional Team Peyton from Herbie Fully Loaded After Herbie was banned from the Sport, Maggie Peyton has to use an actual approved stock car. For the 2006 Season Team Peyton switched to Dodge getting cars from Gannasi, Maggie would run 24 Races in the Busch Series, 12 Races would be in Gannasi's 42 Busch car & the other 12 would be in MWR's 99 car, along with 10 races in a 56 truck entered by Team Peyton in the trucks series. She would also run full-time in the 56 Dodge for Team Peyton in Cup. Bass Pro Shops decided to leave the team to sponsor Martin Truex Jr & DEI full-time in cup. Coca Cola & Advanced Auto Parts signed on to sponsor the 56 Dodge, Advanced would sponsor 22 Races & Coke 14 Races. Maggie's results in the Busch series was 0 wins, 0 Top 5's & 1 Top 10 at Talledega, 4 DNF's, an average finish of 22.6 & 25th in points, her Truck results were 0 wins, 0 Top 5's & 0 Top 10's and a average finish of 20th with 24th in points. Her Cup series results were 0 wins, 0 Top 5's, 0 Top 10's, 7 DNF's, an average finish of 26.8 & 28th in points. Even know Maggie ran at the back of the field she did manage to successfully qualify on speed for the first 5 races & kept the 56 Dodge in the top 35. 2007 was an improvement, Maggie would get Top 5's at Talledega & Charlotte, top 10's at the Daytona 500 & Michigan in June. She would run 10 Races for Gannasi & 5 Races for Fitz Motorsports in Busch. Her 2007 Busch results are 2 Top 5's, 6 Top 10's & a average finish of 14.7, she would led 58 laps in the Carquest 300 at Charlotte and getting her best Busch finish of 3rd, she would led 105 laps in total in Busch. Her 2007 Cup results were an improvement but she mainly ran around 15th-25th, Michigan in June was her best overall race as she got her 1st pole, then would led the first 10 laps before falling back to 13th. She would led 20 more laps in the race afterwards and ended up finishing 6th place. Her average finish improved to 18.4 & she finished 19th in points. Her Pole at Michigan qualified her for the 2008 Bud shootout were she drew 24th place as her starting position & finished 16th. Team Peyton entered a #59 Dodge in the 500 with Terry Labonte as the driver, 1st time they entered more than 1 car. After his 11th place finish in the 500, Labonte ran the first 5 races in the 59 Dodge to try an get into the top 35. Gannasi Busch driver Kyle Krisiloff would drive the next 6 races in the 59 Dodge and would crash in 4 of those races, dropping the car out of the Top 35. In the first 11 Races of the 2008 Season Maggie would get 3 top 10's in the 500, Bristol & Darlington, she was 14th in points after Darlington & had an average finish of 14.6 at that point. But 5 days after the 2008 southern 500, Maggie found out she was pregnant & obviously had to step out of the car. Ken Schrader took over as the driver of the 56 Dodge & Terry Labonte return to the 59 Dodge for the next 18 races. AJ Allmendinger drove the 59 Dodge at the fall Talladega race & the Bank of America 500 before he moved to Evernham. Labonte return for the final 7 Races in the 59. Neither Allmendinger, Schrader or Labonte would win a race for Team Peyton, but AJ would get 4th in the Bank of America 500. For the 2009 Season Team Peyton took all the Dodges & the 41 team from Gannasi after they merged with DEI. Former Gannasi driver Bryan Clauson ran full-time in the 56 Dodge & for rookie of the year. Patrick Carpentier ran full-time in the 59 Dodge, Terry Labonte, Aric Almirola & Maggie Peyton drove the new 60 Dodge. Maggie would have her daughter in February and then returned to the cup series at the Coke Zero 400 in the 60 Dodge where she would finish 9th, she would drive through Watkins Glen before handing the car over to Almirola. Maggie would return at the bank of America 500 finishing 14th & then she drove the Ford 400 finishing 15th. Maggie's results were 0 top's 5's, 1top 10 & a average finish of 15th. For the 2010 Season Bryan Clauson left the team after a stuggle season, so Maggie returned to the 58 Dodge which was renumbered from the 56 as Peyton gave that to MWR., Carpentier returned to the 59 Dodge & Labonte drove the 60 Dodge. Maggie would get the pole for the Atlanta race, she would lead the first 40 laps of the race before getting passed by Jimmie Johnson. Maggie would finish 4th in the race, her 2010 results were 5 Top 5's, 10 Top 10's, she missed the Chase by 10 points, she finished 13th, Carpentier finished 15th in points and Labonte finished 17th in points. In 2010 Team Peyton entered the Nationwide series for the first time fielding a 58 Dodge for Chrissy Wallace where she finished 14th in points For 2011 All drivers returned for Team Peyton in both Cup & Nationwide. In Cup Maggie won her first cup race at Talladega, but once again missed the chase finishing 14th in points, Carpentier finished 15th & Labonte 18th. In the Nationwide series Chrissy Wallace finished 6th in points. For 2012 Labonte retired from full-time competition so he was replaced by Parker Kligerman in the 60 Dodge, Carpentier retired as well so he was replaced by Chrissy Wallace in the 59 Dodge. For the Nationwide Series the team Moved to Part-Time with the Cup Drivers sharing the ride Kligerman would win at Road America giving Team Peyton their first Nationwide Series win, in Cup nobody won and all three Team Peyton Drivers missed the Chase. Kligerman would win Rookie of the Year, for the final 9 Races of the Cup Season Team Peyton would field a 4th car, numbered 61 for AJ Allmendinger. For 2013 Team Peyton switched to Ford, because Dodge didn't see value in continuing with Team Peyton. More Sponsorship Issues forced the team to continue with only 2 cup cars, Maggie driving the 58 & Kligerman in the 60. The team also shut down their Nationwide Team. The team ran around 20th all year, more sponsors left after 2013 and the team went back to just the now returning 56 car with Maggie in 2014. For 2014 the team switched back to Chevy as Ford was giving them little to nothing. Maggie ran around 15th all year long, she did make the playoffs on points, but was eliminated after Round 1. With the Team's financial issues they shut down after 2014.
