@@realMaverickBuckley its a 1.8vvc lump with the vvc mechanism’s removed, running about 170bhp. Recently changed suspension from Hydrolastic to a new coilover setup this year (but its been tough getting it right). Obviously lots of other unique suspension work but its quite alien to most people!

Great racing as always Dan. That Metro was on a whole other level in the wet race. It was like it was using cheat codes in Mario Kart. As for race #3 in HH the yellow EG and the 205 must of had a hidden NOS bottle or something. How did they pick up that much time?

@dannydc2 it looked like in race 3 of hot hatch that they ran much stiffer rear end compared to the front and just dragged the back around to keep the front super pointy. My rover 100/metro really likes this, i have very similar setup to jacks setup minus tyre size running 205/60f and 185/60r

Anytime I've had to suffer pad knockback, usually a sign a wheel bearing was on its way out.

@@dannyDC2I also have experienced this. I had less than 2mm play in a new bearing and experienced the same pedal throw you did. One thing I will say is it’ll happen everywhere not just one corner on a track.

@@dannyDC2 surprisingly not as bad as you'd expect. Checked for play and there was little to none. Yet, I ended up swapping out the bearings on my Civic and it fixed the knockback entirely. There is nothing worse than having a lack in confidence in the brakes!

@@OnlyUseMeChin depending on the track for sure. However in his situation it was happening whenever the left wheels were jolted on that apex curbing. Could be that the axle nut has backed off a smidgen allowing the play. As normally the civic and integral don't suffer from knockback typically.

Try testing the EG with some rear toe out to help it rotate and save the front end from overwork and increase confidence turning in

As an outsider looking in, id say if you would have followed the 205's lines and got a bit more flowing you would of had a better chance. For example, coming into the cork screw he was all the way over to the right but you were in the middle of the track and then hugging the inside, over working the fronts, you had lock on all the way to the apex. The 205 turned in and had half of the lock off by the time he was at the apex. This looked like it was happening on atleast 3 other corners. Great racing though Dan, cant take anything away from you, throughly enjoyed the racing 👍

Great racing as always Danny, looks like the Metro runs a softer suspension set up which may lend its self better to wet conditions. Have you tried starts without using the launch control, i think you'd get off the line better without it.

On the MR2, the brake pedal can feel crap if the brake caliper slider or piston is stuck. Or as you found, a leak. So maybe got the start of sticking calipers. Nice editing with the downshifts and the cam change at the same time. nice. The dry hothatch race, seems like you missed a lot of apexes or took odd lines that hampered the exits quite a few times. almost like your brain was confused by the past wet races? Was wondering the same, which MR2 chassis will you race next season?

Yes some more adjustment for wet weather would be good, although the same setup worked very well at Silverstone in an upcoming video Anglesey is a very tricky track to setup. Losing the test day to brake issues was annoying !
