I lost my little sister to suicide three years ago and when I first heard the premise of your movie a few months back, my heart sank (not exactly sure why I felt that way, but grief is a mf-er and really knows how to punch you right in the gut every now and then). I literally paused this episode after Saritha appears on screen to write you this comment. Thank you for taking up this incredibly heavy topic for your film and treating it with the seriousness and dignity that it deserves. Great work as always-looking forward to supporting and seeing this movie.

@kurtgilbertson

Dude, another amazing vulnerable ep. the questions you ask at the end, (is it me?) shows what a great character man you are. the ability to self assess and reflect prior to placing blame elsewhere is an extremely underrated quality that makes great leaders, well, great leaders. it's why people swarm to work with you cause they know everything is honest, even good and bad. I bet ep3 has a lot of difficult decisions to edit through and please keep a lot of the stuff in that makes you extremely uncomfortable (now as an editor), trust in the vulnerability. I think people seeing the difficulty of decisions and the heart behind them will help loads of people feeling that same thing. only possible to find direction after you first self assess your own role and take your own responsibility and then stepping into that discomfort with clarity and grace. anyways! long story short, youre a dope dude and its great seeing you develop on this platform. need a shirt that says props to pat: venting buddy extraordinaire.

Most videos on KZbin I'll watch them whenever, doesn't matter. When you drop a video, I have to plan a time when I can focus 100% and have the largest screen possible to watch it because verything you do is a work of art and I greatly value everything you share so much. Thank you again for putting so much effort into these amazing videos. My wife and I have worked with huge productions over the past two years and I still remember walking onto my first set with over 50 people and seeing all the different departments buzzing around; we felt super nervous and out of our element, but like you, we pushed forward and weathered the storm and came out ok. It's a blessing to see this video and see that you experienced something similar with everyone coming to you for answers and things not working but finding a way to make them work and adapt. Makes me feel even more at ease to know this path we share has some familiarity. Looking forward to the next drop and of course the film. Hoping to buy a ticket to see it in Philly if we aren't on a production at the time. Cheers bud! #legendanny

You’re keeping it real, doing amazing stuff most people wouldn’t have the balls or the moxie to do, and to top it off addressing big things that need to be talked about. My mother used to say, "It's all beshert. It's already written. Just work hard and enjoy the moment. Everything always works out for the best." (Beshert is a yiddish word, often used as "meant to be" or "fated".) These videos are so good, and I think everyone who follows Danny knows that whatever has been completed after the final edit is done, will be perfect. Exactly what it's supposed to be. Magnificent work. Great art. And that's beautiful. Thanks for sharing the best part. The process. 💘🎬📽️

It's amazing to see you struggle with the project and to realize we all are fragile human beings no matter the talent we have or great people that surround us. It's easy with youtube to make us feel like you are living the dream and that everything is perfect. It never is. I feel like you make this film for all of us who dream of making personal movies about real life struggles. This series is absolute blast for me. I love how open you are about the process. Hey Danny... I am a filmmaker from Zambia. I've worked as a PA on big sets and directed a few small documentaries here there. Planning on going in for an indie feature as soon as I can. What I found interesting while watching this is how film sets no matter the place or people seem to all have similar challenges. This is so relatable. Thank you for sharing this experience with us. Much love to you...🙏🏾

Something really worth highlighting - the amount of locations for this limited budget/schedule is INCREDIBLY ambitious. The only other film I can recall off hand, in the 300K range with this many locations, is the original 1978 Halloween. Most viewers do not understand how much time is lost with company moves from one location to the next - which is why most first time filmmakers are encouraged to write scripts or tackle scripts with stories focused on single locations. I have a ton of respect for this production to tackle something of this scale on this budget tier - the dailies look incredible!

Lovely series brother. Thank you for sharing. I'm excited to watch the film! I believe that a film with the subject matter such as this one is also an opportunity to shine light on the opioid crisis taking place in our world. We now know that many of the drugs prescribed to patients with depression and anxiety contain harmful synthetic compounds which merely numb the symptoms in the short term, but in the long term do nothing to target the root cause. In fact, they make matters worse and can actually be a contributing factor to having suicidal thoughts. This was the case with my father who was dealing with severe anxiety and depression for many years, and the drugs only made things worse. It seems that the drug companies are motivated solely by profit. Fortunately, he is doing a lot better now, loving life and is drug free. Life is a gift and no matter how hard it may seem, everything can be worked through. Glad you are feeling healed and ready to tell a powerful story brother, keep it up. You got this! 💪

I love your videos. Watchin the love and the enthusiasm that you have for film itself is so fun and beautiful. I would appreciate a little bit more tech stuff, because I never were on a set myself, but know stuff about the tools, so it would be awesome to see, what you use and need to make the best out of the project. Keep up the great work ;)

So happy I helped fund this. I'm living my life vicariously through you Danny! I'm directing my first full length feature in a month, so I am GRIPPED by this series. Oh boy!! (Also I feel like that DOP talk was what in the biz call foreshadowing!)
