KZbin kept recommending your videos through their algorithm. The first video I watched was the one on your friend, the music artist who has a CD coming out soon. I enjoyed your story around him and even went to watch his wedding video, which I enjoyed. In the comments of that video, someone wrote, "Your channel is one of the most wholesome ones on. KZbin." I appreciate your vulnerability. You seem to be a kind spirit. You talked about making the outreach unique. What stands out about your videos is that you're the only KZbinr who I follow that closes their video with "I love you." I can appreciate that honesty and vulnerability. BTW, I also enjoyed your video on imposter syndrome. Thanks for the value you've provided me.

Solid advice - I adopted a more personable approach when I contacted some MTB companies last year and backed this up by giving them free work, while suggesting what I could do to hit their brand on a brief they didn't think they needed. it worked 20% of the time but I believe without that effort it could of been zero. Bottom line is these companies need work doing, they have plenty of choice who they give that work to so be genuine, they like genuine, they're interested in you as much as what you can do.

Points made, and pertinence. Bravo ! Long story short... a friend of mine is a casting director, specialized in extras. He got hired for a series about the "Holy inquisition", set in Europe during the XIIIth century... to "purifiy". He had to find some 300-ish extras with flexible schedules, the right "faces", some specific skills (for about 10% of the total), etc. He released an ad on some Website, to ask for candidates... received 6000 applications. So I asked him "How did you managed the process of choosing ?". "Simple... I ran it into steps : no "Subject" leading the e-mail DELETED, no "Hello" ahead of the text DELETED, no courtesy or thank-you's DELETED, no decent/clean self-portrait DELETED, poor orthograph and grammar DELETED, not compeling with my infos requests DELETED, and a few more. Just with this, I took it down to 1200... then moved on to run the real selection." That's how it goes... these guys/girls have 24 hours a day + a huge amount of work + a sensitivity. If you can't get this... better be a computer repair technician. lol

Great advice!! :) However, I do have something to say regarding the "be a normal human being" part. As someone on the autism spectrum, it's hard enough for me to read social clues in real-life sometimes, and although I've been doing better and better at it, a lot of the times people misinterpret my intentions quite badly. I also rely on formal ways when I just don't know how I should do or say something. Sometimes I start a conversation, everything is going well, and suddenly, they just stop responding to me and I don't know why and I'm just totally clueless. But... then again I can always mention that at some point in the conversation I guess. Now that I think about it, I had a good rate of success reaching out so far. Even had someone reaching out to me to ask if they could draw some of my pictures! That's great :)

I think it’s important to let the recipient know you care (as you said, follow them, study the company’s strategy, etc.) and that your e-mail should succinctly communicate why they should care; what’s their benefit. Many years ago, I really wanted to switch industries to the automotive industry and Infiniti and Lexus were in pre-launch. I wrote both for marketing mgr positions, got rejected by their HR dep’ts because they wanted car experience. I kept writing but directed my mail to the VP/Gen’l Mgrs every three of four weeks, citing recent articles about them and how I could help strategically or tactically. After about three months, Infiniti’s VP/GM hired me for my dream job of helping launching a car company. HR wasn’t happy, lol.
