I went from CSL elites to V3, at first i was like oh boy these v3's look awesome but i was a bit disappointed in how they felt and especially not much room for adjustments. Used the v3 for maybe 6 months and went Sprints and never looked back once they are really great and worth the money imo

Are you me? I sold my v3s last week after 6 months too. For the price, especially after the IMO mandatory tuning kit I’d rather fork over the extra money and just have the sprints with the tuning software, which is almost worth the price difference alone

@@l4x3rj The Fanatec V3s are solid entry pedals for people that start with simracing and want to have a brake load cell and a 3 pedal set for a more or less "moderate" price, but that´s it.

I just want to say that I seriously appreciate how you explain things from a racer's perspective, like the "Why People Upgrade" segment. Anyone can talk about the smoothness, tactile feel, build quality and so on, but while you cover this very well you also tap into feelings felt on-track in the heat of battle and how this hardware can benefit you in actual competitive scenarios. Some reviewers leave me doubting that they even race at all. Good on ya.

Sprints are awesome pedals. I upgraded to these the Fanatec CSLs with load cell which I never could get on with. No lie the difference to me was like braking with and without ABS. Obviously I meant with ABS is the feeling I get from the sprints.

You’re literally on the same upgrade path as me. I just got these, previously I had V3s and before that I had Fanatec csls, I also had the Fanatec clubsport elite, and went to the csl dd boosted kit. I do a lot more nascar though but can appreciate the linear software adjustments and all the details. Can’t wait to get mine. If you watch my recent Mascar highlight with a 10th to 2nd place push in 2 laps after an hour long race, you can thank my upgrades I’m time. I also went the route to get my chassis upgraded. I’m in Canada so I got the ASR3 from Advanced sim racing and I also got a bass shaker about 6 months back. World of difference!

Just been through a €3500 rig upgrade, and the Sprints were ordered before I'd even decided on which DD ecosystem I was going to go with (Simucube in the end) I was lucky in being able to do everything in one fell swoop. However what I would say to anybody who's looking at the next step up but the budget doesn't allow everything in one go is:- Rig first, as this will be the foundation for everything else, and mount your existing hardware to it. Then the pedals - the pedals are by far the most important sim racing input device as they will have by far the greatest effect on your performance. The DD wheelbase and wheel rims can come last. While they may seem the most exciting part of upgrading, they are actually the least important.
@l4x3rj
@l4x3rj 2 жыл бұрын
100% agreed. Step 1 is obviously a proper rig. Step 2 is getting the best pedals you can afford. Everything else can be upgraded over time. I’d take a Logitech wheel and sprints over a DD pro and Logitech pedals any day. Plus pedals can directly make you faster which no other piece of sim equipment does.

I have yet to get a sim set up, I was originally going to go the Fanatec route, but after putting thought into how serious I’d like to take racing, im gonna have to go Moza R9 + Sprints. I’m looking for the best quality I can get so any excuses are thrown out the window and my lack of skill is on the forefront. I want to burn away the weaknesses with concise and straightforward proofs of my inconsistencies, mistakes, and mishaps. I simply cannot do that on anything less than the best. Breaks are more than just a tool to stop the car. They help with rotation, weight transfers, speed control in S curves, etc. i need something that read all of that into my feet directly like I’m driving my irl car. Im not ready yet to get these, but I’m getting them without any doubt in my soul.

Hi Danny, great vid! I’d love a set of these but I don’t have the room for a rig to mount them on. I did however follow your video from a couple of years ago about improving the stability of the V3 pedal base with the bits of timber (and up against a wall). It worked a treat with my V2 pedals as since then I’ve been able to apply a lot of pressure to the brake without fear of them lifting up! Do you think a similar mounting could be possible with the Sprints (presumably with the baseplate at least)? Cheers!

Great and thorough video, thank you! I'm also coming from the ClubSport V3s, so I'm curious about two thing: 1.) How do you find not having the vibration on the brake pedal? I've found this feature incredibly helpful, although admittedly close to what you discuss in the video with regards to it almost feeling like cheating a bit, since that kind of feedback isn't in a car without ABS. 2.) Aside from cost, was there any reason you went with the Sprints as opposed to the Ultimate+'s?

Zero maintenance? Sir, that is not good. Heusinkveld recommends to lube the gas and clutch pedal with PTFE spray at about every 100 hours of use. Just the brake pedal does not need maintenance intervalls, but only if the brake is making unnatural noises. I´d higly recommend to at least lube the gas and clutch pedal regulary as described in the manual.

I chose the HPP JBVs over the HEs when I upgraded from the V3s back in 2020. I’m really regretting that decision now. HPP is out of business. Just closed the doors and sold the rights to manufacture the pedals to another company. No heads up, no warrings just nothing. My pedals need to be repaired as the potentiometers in the accelerator and clutch have failed. Like many other sets of JBVs. HPP doesn’t respond to any emails. I feel like I was ripped off by Mark at HPP.

Using VNMs as well, with the Sprints being a consideration before the buy. I would have gone for Sprints due to HE customer support and just due to bias; however Niels did not give in to corruption and give me a discount code, so I bitterly bought the VNMs :P. Although he was not happy as the VNMs are effectively just a copy of the HEs, I think there are only so many ways to make a lever attached to a sensor and springs. My only complaint is that the optional elastomers and springs don't come with lube (Not the end of the world, but you need to lube them or they make minor noise. Use PTFE or silicon based.), the pedal piston geometry is not absolutely perfect and causes some very strange combinations to deform in other axis than just compression (Not an issue with most setups, make sure you mount weaker springs on the pedal-end) and I wish the clutch included a heavier spring. I think my clutch lever has more adjustment holes but they might also just be structural. Swapping out springs and elastomers is also not the easiest thing in the world, but it doesn't exactly differ much from the HE pedals in that regard. Just use appropriately sized spacers and wind some preload in or out as appropriate. I got stripped down versions from a local reseller which were a steal. Now I'm mapping out the pedal force response curves to see if I can replicate a real setup.

@@adrianmilanesi9143 The operating principles are identical for the throttle and brake. Although this goes for almost all consumer pedals.
