When you buy your reps just take off the box and leave it for days in a ventilated area and the smell will disappear, mostly reps are fresh made and the glue smell is strong, after dry the shoe will smell like leather.

I buy reps and wear them. Why would I pay $2k for a pair of shoes to keep in the box If I could walk into a store and just buy them I would. But re seller's have put a stop to that. Sniff check can be a way to investigate, but I've had a few pairs directly from Nike that have had the glue smell strong and faintly there. Not the end all be all, to spot a fake is really based on how much homework someone does on all the upcoming drops. Be prepared. (Size 11.5 mens)
