I grew up as a Jehovah's witness and was baptized at 14yrs old. I questioned everything from the Bible and was told by my parents that's what it says, so just believe the Bible, but never answering why so much didn't make sense. Until one person told me to never stop asking questions until the answer feels right in my heart. By 16yrs old I didn't want to be a Jehovah's witness because I didn't want to lie about what I believe, well shortly after I was kicked out of my home, not because I didn't something wrong but for the fact my questions pushed against my parents answers. My mom was told to disown me by the elders, and she did for a year or so. But overall, it was the best thing that could have happened to me! In a wonderfully weird way, I grew with religion and to be spiritual, then leaving it because it didn't make sense, just to come back with a very deep spiritual life that feels right to my heart and every cell in my body, and not by what someone is telling me I should be or believe. I truly feel free and absolutely love life in every aspect. Life is beautifully amazing!!

O wow. I grew up catholic with a lot of JW doctrine because my moms sisters were JWs. I remember in 1975 I was so afraid of God because he was going to smite me in Armageddon. And I remember always thinking of Jesus but my ant would tell me Jehova is Gods name and I grew afraid of saying Jesus until I was 42 years old. I was in my living room and I started to talk to God and get real with Him and I felt Gods presence so strong so I heard a voice with me telling me I needed to change because I was praying for God to change everyone around me. The voice said You need to change child, so I said is that you God answering me and the same voice answered and said Yes child this is Jesus you have to change so instantly I saw myself the way our Father sees us all. With pure love that is tangible. I cried out Yes Jesus change me. As soon as I said Jesus name the power of God fell on me and I will never be the same. I’ll recommend you read the gospel of John and see where Jesus talks to Nicodemus in ch3. The word born again means to remember your origin. If you have any questions please let me know. Love this conversation! I am a Christian because I love Jesus but I don't read the bible and I am not part of organized religion. I was part of it 30 years ago; it was my life's darkest time. The current teachings NEVER made sense to me or felt true. I never connected to the message of being saved. It always felt so dark and judgemental. I am glad this conversation is expanding and I am not alone in my beliefs.

As a recovering Mormon i am beginning to realize how different i was taught from other religions. There main teachings and focus is on Christ. Check out a mormon church. Totally different from the fear based dogmatic stuff. Obviously there is bullshit and evil in all religions and i moved on at 17 but i cherish the focus on love, service, family and Christ!

This rang true for me, I have been coming to this realization after reading The Key, A True Encounter and also Jesus and the Essenes by Dolores Cannon, among other books...so many things have been hid and distorted. I am curious what Darius J Wright says(he would make a great interview) who can willingly have an OBE similar to an NDE when the soul detaches from the physical body by going into a Delta state and remaining conscious. The places you can go with your soul should make anyone live a more meaningful life and see things from a new perspective. Believe it or not, you willingly chose to come here from the other side. Aaron I love the way you talk but every time I hear you you’re always hating on Paul. I’m not defending him to you because it’s obvious how you feel about him, but I’ll tell you what. If I had wrote some of the Bible my writings would match Paul’s also because he knew Jesus was God in the flesh just like I do and we’re crazy in love with Jesus our Lord and our God. Paul was in a road when the Son of God rose up in him and I was in my living room when my spirit saw Jesus on the cross and coming out of the grave. In case you didn’t know our spirit has eyes and ears and what it sees and hears is more real that this physical world.
