@RobbL564 ай бұрын
I'm not gonna say you're wrong overall, but specifically The Years of Decay is one of the loosest thrash albums I've ever heard. There are several moments throughout where they're not all quite on the same tempo, as well as lots of hits that don't quite land all at the same time. It was quite obviously recorded without a metronome, and it's a great record, but tight is not a word I would use to describe it.

This reminds me of a word I just kinda made up when I was trying to replicate the amazing Tool bass tones (Primarily Paul’s but still to a more subtle extent Justin’s as well) that had such a perfect balance of the usual bass depth on the low end, BUT such a bright and “metallic” mid to high range that really cut through the wall of sound to be heard when the bass was the.focal point of a song. Especially with Justin taking an almost Lead position on some songs. But I called it a “ClanGiness” because of that bright metallic sound. Like the “clanging” of pots and pans or Bender from futurama on a, well… bender lol
