Some cars even have a hole to insert a screwdriver and it hits the dead center of the motor and you can tap with a hammer, some cars dont require taking it all the way apart like this

I changed out the switch because they’re cheap, didn’t help. Saw this vid and slammed the door a couple times and it worked. You just need to let the thing know who’s the boss.

If you are able to take the motor apart. Clean the inside of the motor. Electrical contacts etc. lube any shafts or gears. Your motor will often work like new agin.

I need your advice please Brother 🙏🏼🙏🏼😞😞😞 So unknowingly I've only gone and ordered a US Market Dorman 741-736 window regulator which is for a USDM Civic's (Passenger side) so have just discovered that the regulators motor electrical plug is a 2 pin whereas on my UKDM Civic (Driver side) it's a 4 pin plug. So basically regulator and motor would fit as it's for the right side door, just theres 2 wires and a 2 pin plug instead of 4 wires and a 4 pin plug to connect to my UKDM wiring. Any ideas to work round this bro? Damn totally my fault I should've known plugs would be different being that RHD - UKDM and LHD- USDM, Totally my fault 🤦🏼 Please help 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Yes fuel pump, I used to bang on the bottom of the tank with a rubber hammer to quickly diagnose fuel pumps on suburbans a trucks, starters also, reason the motor gets stuck and the jolt free’s it, usually do to brush wear

motor has carbon brushings with a spring. they consume and get smaller and smaller till they not pushing on the rotor . hitting it wiggles the 2 carbon pieces so they get in contact again. not an expert but that's my theory. edit LOL I ve see the reply after I wrote

the short answer, brushes are worn and don’t make a good contact anymore, hitting it with the hammer kinda repositions components, long answer: The commutator on the window motor is probably worn. This causes a poor fit against the brushes and whacking the motor causes a better fit; although it's temporary. The situation would be the same as a worn starter motor that will start working again after being whacked briskly with a hammer.
